Where in the world are you gonna get a better deal than having Shade get her back running the way it needs for very little cost. There aren't many out there that will do that, but that's the way Shade treats the members here........I was hew here and he and retro spent much time on the phone and the old forum to get my 450 running like a top. And trust me if I had tackled the job by myself it would still be apart or somehow chugging along on 1/2 cylinder....lol

All the items I need to finish the mower are finally here, the extra belts that were advertised for a 36 inch westwood mower are too short, but I can send them back. I started tidying up all the wires this evening and fit an aluminium frame for everything to bolt to, including an emergency stop button, which still needs connecting. Next up is to finish the wiring and set out the tensioner pulley mechanism, I will probably go with my original plan and use a small hand winch that has a slow and quick release system for untentioning the drive belt. I also need to shim the driving pulley on top with a steel tube I bought, it just needs cutting to length.

I've always like the 350, being i was always farming , i never had the chance to convert one to a 383, or 388, but the 383 was hands down the big dog at the thunder hill dirt track a few miles from my place. i have a friend who did put angle pluged 375 (camel back) horse heads on his 350, holley double pumper carb, i have no idea what cam it had.... it would set you back in the seat, he finally blew the transfer case wide open.

I see we have not had any post on this thread in a while , I sold that arbor press in the pic above for $160 had it listed for $200 on Craig's List , I got it for nothing , cleaned it and a couple of cans of paint ---- I tried to press a bearings into a hub of my buddies 300 2wd disc kit and it wouldn't do it , it was rated as 5 tons , it was pretty much useless to me I just got a new test tank , I leant my old one out and buddy said it was brittle and cracked up , it was $39.99 from Powersports , nice to have so you can run your atv with the tank off during tuning and adjustments

Unfortunately it isn't a hard thing to do 87, that's why it is mentioned here on the forum quite abit. After I changed my oil on my 450 the first time I started it up and realized I forgot to add oil.....thankfully only ran for a few seconds, but sometimes when doing maintenance you are thinking of other things and get distracted.....

I’ve always loved the cowl hoods. So when I got the truck it was something I had to have lol.

Talked to shade. Off hand comment and I realize oil filter is backwards. Totally not intuitive. See if I did much damage but yes. I appreciate all the help and I hope I don’t wind up loading up for a drive to Arkansas but if I have to. I get three day weekends at work right now. Have family around hot springs. . Not sure the oil filter flipped will fix knocking but will see. Gonna check a couple things then put it back together and see if anything changes. Valves appeared too loose too

It will be interesting to see what attendance is like in the NFL and NBA if they even end up playing any games......my TV will be tuned to something else. I haven't really read too much about the NHL but they usually don't make the headlines with irrational behavior.....

feeling and listening to what and where the noise is..wont get you anywhere !. this is a case of ripping it all back apart ( no..you do not need to pull the motor..again...yet ?! ), going through each section at a time to see what damage is where ?, what part is bad, not right ?. you can listen all you want ?, but this does not always work !!.

you deff got something wrong on this motor !!. i don't know what all it is ?, but what i do know is: IT'S NOT RIGHT !..LOL. i listened to the video, that has to be one of the worst engines i have ever heard lately that sounds like you dropped a bag of marbles down into !!!..lol. you still have my number ?, we need to go back over a few things for sure !..lol. these motors are very simple, IF YOU PUT THEM BACK TOGETHER CORRECTLY ?!!..LOL. its almost dummy proof to mess this engine up ?, but it can be done !. sooooo, with that said, me and you need to start from scratch, and see where you messed up ?. i can't be your eyes on here or the phone ?, but i can tell you how and what to look for, how it goes back together !. if you can't do it ?..then like i said..load that puppy up, all parts, drive down here, we'll have it apart, back together, and running like new when you head back home with it. THAT IS !..IF YOU DO NOT NEED ANY OTHER PARTS ?. but i do know i can fix it, your only cost is gas here and back, and maybe an 18 pack of cold brew ?, where else you gonna get that kinda price ??..lol.

To say I'm happy is an understatement! I bought this belt thinking it might be the right size and to my surprise, it is! I still have to time the drums but I'm delighted the belt fits. I also got the driving V pulley belts that drive the engine to drum pulleys, so I'm gonna take an evening or 2 this week to try and finish it for the weekend.

You see what that Silverado in Canada was pulling? More impressive (?) Was how it was attached.. or should I say how in the world that pin could survive acceleration and braking. BUT at least a chain was used. Safety first!!
