No doubt about it, I NEED a good 3D printer! My eyes are aching from peering through my magnification headset over these last three days making holes in the cover! I got the cover roughed in though, finally, and I will touch up the button holes tomorrow with some 800 grit paper and bond the button strip and PC frame into it with Ultra Black. This is not my best looking work, but it'll have to do until I get a 3D printer. It'll look better tomorrow after some touchup with fine grit paper wrapped around a wooden matchstick. Top View: While I was squinting at the button holes yesterday I took a break to solder leads on & glued the fahrenheit board into the back cover: If all goes well tomorrow I will be dunking the oil temp sensor in hot oil to calibrate the module while I wait on the button strip & PC frame gluing step to cure. We're only a few days from finishing this bugger up now.

Well I found that one of the intake valves is slightly bent, going to replace. I noticed it while cleaning. It has a slight wobble on the drill. Also the outer springs are out of tolerance, probably not surprising given its age.

Continue to isolate & eliminate by breaking the issue down into small, logical, more manageable pieces. You have inspected the rocker arms, adjuster screws and valve stem tips and you have readjusted the lash properly. After adjusting the valve lash you began to hear what you assume is a mechanical noise in the motor,,.,. keep that factor in mind... You have repaired the carb and now have the motor in tune. You said that you eliminated the possibility of an exhaust leak, don't know how ya did that but lets assume there are no tiny leaks anywhere in the pipe.... that means that the noise surely is a mechanical one, since only an exhaust leak can mimic a purely mechanical knock or tick. Next determine whether the noise is intermittent, occurs only during certain reproducible conditions (while loaded only? under acceleration? throttle blips? deceleration? idling only?) or is constant no matter the RPM, loaded or unloaded? Try to reproduce and describe those conditions where noise occurs exactly. One step at a time...

I touched up the button holes and window with 800 grit this morning, then decided that I would glue each part into the top cover individually. So the button strip is glued down into the top cover with black 3M adhesive and is curing. I will add the PC frame & window later on this afternoon using Ultra Black to waterproof seal it to the cover and 3M adhesive to seal/glue the PC frame to the button strip and top cover. I don't want to leave any doubt in my mind that the gizmo can (& will!) submerge deep behind Fishfiles place! 🙂 So then I moved all the electrical stuff to the old stovetop to calibrate the module to the oil temp sensor suspended in hot oil. Before I put any heat under the oil I learned that the trimpot that I had put on the board was no good though. So I used a razor blade to slice the glue loose under it and removed that junker, then soldered in another new 10k ohms Bournes multi-turn pot and glued it down. Back to the stovetop... the gizmo dialed in easily with the sensor suspended in oil at room temp this time, with the new trimpot. I cycled through the menus to set it up initially with hysteresis set at 20 degrees F, fan relay kick off temp at 180 degrees F, High Temp alarm turned OFF. This setup kicks the fan relay on at 200 degrees F and kicks the relay back off at 180 degrees F. First test, I unplugged the oil temp sensor to see if that alarm worked (LLL displays if a sensor wire gets broken or unplugged) and it did. Then I turned the fire on under the oil and stirred the oil constantly until it reached 220+ and kept stirring. I fine tuned the trimpot to match the rising, stable & falling oil temps with my multimeter by turning the fire on & off around the 220 degree mark, and then allowed the oil to cool to test the relay kickoff. Then I heated the oil to check the max at 230 degrees vs my multimeter, with the high temp alarm still turned off. It tracks very nicely indeed! Sensitivity & response is excellent! That left me with just one more test.... I entered the parameters menu and selected P6, the High Temp alarm, and toggled the alarm to ON. Then I adjusted the high temp alarm threshold to fire off when the oil temp reaches 225 degrees and lit the fire under the oil again and began to stir. These next two pics show that the high temp alarm works a lot differently on this fahrenheit board than the Celcius boards do. This board, once the oil temp surpassed 225 degrees, the temperature display began to flash off and on every second. I got no way to post a video, so I took two pics instead to show how the high temp alarm works. Here you can see the display has flashed on and the fan relay is still active, the LED indicator is lit, just like its supposed to behave. And here you can see that the display has flashed off while in the high temp alarm condition, while the fan relay is still active and the relay indicator LED is still on. The Celsius boards do not behave like that, they don't flash at all, they just show "HHH" on the display while in high temp alarm mode. So the high temp alarm feature works like it should (and the display flashes the oil temp) on these fahrenheit boards, which is a pleasant surprise! 🙂 As I mentioned earlier I got some gluing to do now, it'll probably take about two or three days to complete those glueing & sealing steps. I'll be back with more pics when its time to LOCA the display window and seal the top cover onto it.

thats exactly what deal i have going with a friends (Allen) at teds sporting goods.... another plus is it's a family owned local business .. my family has been dealing with for over 50 years ... my grandfather even gave them a trophy buck he shot when he was in his late 40's still mounted on the wall, with a few other trophies from long time members of the community.

Glad you got her under control bro! Enjoy free time while you have it bud! Its all gunna change soon! I found out how small of an amount of sleep i need to function. Found myself working on my quad in the garage way way late at night. I would go to work come home and spend family time and still get my projects done in the garage. Aside from that i would have had a traffic jam of projects. Dont take anything im saying as it being a negative. Its the furthest thing from. Just changes to lifestyle is all.

Boyz... the 383 with new FastBurn Heads & roller cam is up & running. New 2220rpm stall bolted in. Plus few other things. She’s heading onto the dyno! There are 3 in line for tuning before my beast goes on. I’ll anxious to see the new numbers. Prior I made 233rwhp & 330rwtq @ 3500rpm. The shop videos all dynos & posts up on their YouTube page!

Was looking for ammo this last Saturday, EVERY store I went into has zero .22 ammunition, and 0 hand gun ammo, very little long gun ammo, a bit of 300 win mag ammo nothing else. I have been buying as much .17 as I can get, they seem to have plenty of that. But 2 box limit per caliber per day. Nothing on the shelves anyway. .17 is 14.00 per 50, .22 if you can find it is .26 per round. I too remember the Walmart days of 550 rounds for $8.38, what an idiot I was for not buying a buttload of it. I just got a rifle that was my father inlaws, a weird caliber, .325 wsm. Ordered 7 boxes of 20 rounds was over $500.00. I have a friend at one of the sporting goods stores that told me he will start pulling some ammo for me, I think thats one of the only ways a guy is going to get a hold of it is if you know someone .

yeah Jeep...even my wife doesn't know how much is on hand..she has never asked...only on occassion throughout the years when there's a panic, would she ask me "do we have enough ammo?" I just smile softly and say "yes, we're fine" and that's the end of it. one of her sisters married a yank and they live up in Conn...so they have "never needed a gun" mindset...then last November as they watch all the news and riots..now they want a gun..first time in their lives..ok..that's fine...but she gets the phone call... "ask your husband what kind of gun we should buy and where can we get bullets!!!" I just sigh..they expect a full gun class training and getting up to speed on the firearms industry and current panic in a 5 minute phone call..oh and they also wanted me to help them understand solar generator systems as they were looking at some emergency gimick web advertisement...again..this is the state of unpreparedness of so many folks..sorry..don't meant to turn this into a zombie prepper forum thread...there's other forums for that I know...but short is, I'm still enjoying my firearms shooting sports hobby, still training, just running a lot fewer rounds...all the toys are fully accessorized where I wanted them to be, all have many extra mags and full capacity mags where applicable, parts and knowledge to maintain and repair, etc

That lever is the cable activated 4x4 system. The 420 used the same design but they went back to electronic when they added diff lock in 2014. Looks to be the foot shift model. They are good machines besides the rear shock being a little on the soft side if your a bigger guy.

I'm just across the lake from you @PROV. Got the same forecast over here as you got, it's been snowing since 4:30 AM. Expecting below zero temps as highs on Sunday & Monday with -35 to -55 wind chills possible & steady lake-effect snow dumping all weekend long. We were due though it's been too mild.

The idle is actually set. It idles steady now. I think I’ve nailed down the fuel/air mixture. I think my starting warm is also cured (need to verify after a long run). But I’ve had it around the block, and idling in the yard to the point my fan came on and it still started good. The issue is that ticking/ or whatever you want to call it. I may pick up a mechanical stethoscope to try and pin down my noise.

After 2008, I got those calls. When prices went down again I told all of my friends "YOU BETTER BUY NOW!" They did. I'll be danged if I'm going to watch people take 4 vacations a year, blowing all of their income on bread and circuses, and then say "Hey, you have any ammo you want to sell at pre-panic prices now that I feel the need for it?" Nope, I sure don't. You should have bought when the buying was good. Instead, you spent all your money eating out and going on vacations. I actually had quite a few heated arguments with my best friend's (the one who died in 2007) little sister. She has gone full "woke" and went so far as to accuse me of having "wealthy white male blinders" on when I questioned her unflinching "big government will fix all the world's problems" and suggested that politicians do not have anyone's best interest at heart except their own....... Anyhow, her husband sent me a text a few days ago asking if I had any "extra ammo". No sir, I sure don't. You might want to thank your wife for the current panic and lack of availability.

Well he picks all the weeds out of small square areas in the yard, and then only mows the areas that he's picked clean of weeks. "You know mowers scatter weed seeds, right?" So yep, new Ferris zero turn got used twice this summer. The rest of his mowing was with an old POS Craftsman push mower. His 1981 John Deere 750 with a grooming deck on the rear has about 400 hours on it. The JD dealership tried for years to buy it back from him because it was still practically new and their cost went through the roof on small tractors.

I have 4 different kinds of engravers , electric , air , rechargable and a AA battery powered one , I can spell my name in script and it looks very good , printing is a breeze ----good thing to have ---some have a carbide bit that vibrates in and out , some use a tiny grinding die I have a story of how engraving got my stuff back and the guy that stole it caught ---- I had a covered slip with an electric hoist in the Pointe-a-la-Hache marina with a travel trailer in front of it , it was broken in to several times , they got the TV , VCR , tools , fishing poles , then about 8 years after the last break in , I get a call from a Plaquimines Parish Sheriff , he says he has got some of my stuff that was stolen , I had engraved my drivers license number onto poles and tools , the guy that got caught was the security guard at the marina , who I use to give coffee and biscuits in the cold mornings and fresh fish in the evenings so he would watch my stuff , he tole 4 tires off a Parish truck , he didn't know they emboss them with a hot iron marker , they went to his house and he had his garage filed to the roof with all the stuff he stole over the years , back at the evidence room , I seen many things that were mine , but could have them as they were not marked or I had a receipt with a serial number https://www.tequipment.net/Ideal11-113.asp?Source=googleshopping&/?utm_content=engraving tools ebay&utm_term=&utm_campaign=Shopping Campaign(BSC)&utm_source=Bing_Yahoo&utm_medium=cpc&msclkid=fc42cbe8d481188f69c4abf17a7c7d1e

My go to tire is always the MudBug, especially when plowing. I take my radial bearclaw htr off and they do good but the bugs outperform them. If your looking for a set of tires on the cheaper side the original BearClaws are a good all around tire for about everything yet still bite in the snow.

I have read that the 2009-2014 generation 420 front shocks will lift the front end a 450 , but I have never tried it , I have the lift kits on my fronts ---- maybe go to Bronco shocks' site or call them on the phone with measurements of your shock , 2 inch longer shocks is the max you can go or you will have to compress them to put them in
