tad morbid Prov ....but I understand your point. I've always said, from a "prepper standpoint" that I'm not a survivalist.. I have no desire to live in a Mad Maxx time..fun to watch on a movie, but not a lifestyle for me. (LOL) that said, prepping is something that I guess I've done long before it was a thing. living up on the hill in Ohio, power was shakey, snow wasn't cleared from our roads etc...having heat and other needs for a few days meant the difference between being miserable or cozy. not to get offtrack from the firearms thread too much, just saying that along with food, and Lord!! toilet paper, things like that I didn't have to panic over when all this hit last year this time...we ate normal , we wiped normal. Firearms , mags, ammo have been stocked with the same mindset as I stocked canned veggies. I'll admit that I could get caught up in the frenzie right now..watching so many folks in the midst of the panic, waiting in line at dawn in hopes to get their 2 box limit "if" there is any, etc. the "prepper" in me, went ahead long before this and grabbed those extra mags, those higher capacity items, and the rounds to make it through this dry spell, or, to hold my own if it comes to that point. Back on topic - (sorry)...both of my 10/22 rifles run the BX15 and 25 mags perfectly and I particularly enjoy the 15s and would recommend them to anyone who wants just a tad more capacity before the round count ban comes around again. and for those that don't own and haven't had the pleasure of plinking with a little 10/22...you owe it to yourself ...they are still a budget value product.

I agree with you but also will never condemn one for wanting a large capacity magazine. Furthermore I'll never condemn anyone for any difference of opinion whether it be religion, political views or any other reason. Where I do draw a strong line is when someone attempts to force their views on me and limiting my freedoms. It's probably safe to say the vast majority of the members here if not all feel very similar to their freedoms being whittled away.

Did some work on the 2095 tonight. Bar studs were stripped and repaired once before. I found a product called e-z lok inserts. Basically a double threaded insert. So I tapped the case out to 9/16 - 12 and put these inserts in. Smothered in red locktite. It’s all assembled and ready to test tomorrow. I’ll try to get some videos in the big wood.

I got to give my son in law a thumbs up for his 70 Cutlass , his dad gave it to him when he was 18 , he is 36 now , been garage kept it's entire life , he did a lot of work to it , he coned it , all except for the 442 fender badges , so he ain't lying about nothing , last year he finished the 455 engine build and swop , don't know how lucky he was to get the Olds455 personal plate , would think that would have been taken already ---- he replaces the hood with the fiberglass 442 hood and the rear wing

So since I got the ATV I’ve spent a fair bit of time underneath it.. and I found it odd that the skid plate ended short before the shift motor and that the front portion wasnt really protected. After closer inspection I realized that it appeared that the skid plate wasnt quite complete and he broke part of it off. The two front mounts were ripped off (nuts gone), the OEM plate was held on by the 3 rear most bolts. So out came the grinder and some 16 gauge metal. Once I get my gas back for my welder I plan on trying to reweld the two broken nuts on. For the time being this thing is held at the very front mounts and I welded on some side tabs that bolt onto where the footwell rails go. For the rear this thing slides above the OEM plate by about 2-3”. I drilled the two holes out in anticipation for when I fix the OEM mount location. The other random hole in the front end is for front diff drain. Excuse my make shift paint both. primer drying before we hit it with black.

They had the same arms as the people against whom they were fighting. The founding fathers also had privately owned cannons, and privately owned warships.

I guess when you get right down to it, do you trust the politicians in office now? What about the politicians elected in 2022, and 2024? You don't know who they are, right? So you don't know what kind of crap they're going to try to pull. You could get a far right neo nazi skinhead who wants to lock up all black people. You could get a far left commie who wants to recreate Stalin's USSR. Unless you 100% trust every politician in office now, and in the future, for the rest of your life, it is in your best interest to keep a means to deter them from treading on you. An armed populace is that deterrent, regardless of which side of the aisle is in charge.

The 2nd Amendment was written right after the colonies had waged war on the British Crown. Armed men cannot be ruled. It isn't about hunting, and never has been. It isn't even about defending ones home from criminals. It's about having the means to fight against tyranny. That is why the 2nd Amendment was written. The Bill of Rights are not rights granted by government. They limit government, not grant rights to citizens. If you look at the millions upon millions of people who have been killed by nazis and communists in the last century, they had one thing in common; they were unarmed. If you get a chance TB, read Unintended Consequences by John Ross. Might give you a different perspective in why a lot of people won't ever be disarmed in this country. I know you weren't a Trump fan, and when he was elected you had a lot of minorities, gays, etc who were scared that he would use government to oppress them. The 2nd Amendment applies to ALL men, black, white, yellow, brown, straight, gay, rich poor. Most of us here are terrified at the government overreach that we're already seeing with Biden. A lot of people on the other side of the political spectrum felt the same way about Trump. IF any of those fears ever come to fruition, people being armed is a deterrence to outright tyranny. I gave some 5.56 to a coworker the other day. He's a young black guy, voted for Biden, has always voted Democrat, but bought an AR15 to protect his home and his children. The police in the town where I work are more or less useless, and honestly I can't blame them. They make $10/hour, and are expected to deal with these gangs and drug dealers who have no qualms about hosing people down with illegal full autos. That means people have to have the means to defend themselves, and when given the choice, no sane person wants to be outgunned by the opposition. Easter Sunday there were a half dozen shootings in Helena AR where I work. I watched one of them recorded on a security camera at a local shop. Three guys on crotch rockets stop at a stop light, a newer black camero rolls by, sprays about 40-50 rounds of of the window. All three bikes go down, then two more cars roll by also firing out of the windows at the bikes. One crotch rocket rider jumps up and speeds off, and then after the cars are gone, the other two riders hop up and run off. Probably 100 rounds fired, and everyone rides/ runs away. The idea that laws upon laws upon laws will stop criminals, who by definition, break laws, is just naive. Gun control isn't about making people safe. It's about control. Always has been, always will be. There were 7 million first time gun owners in the US last year. People are realizing it is up to each individual to protect themselves. .gov isn't getting it done. I'll bet a whole lot of those new AR15 owners were people worried that Trump was going to use government to oppress them. That is their right, and I applaud them for taking responsibility for themselves. You hope they're never needed, but if they are, and you don't have them.........it's Warsaw circa 1940 all over again.

Not sure about sucking on any heads but the beer part sounds good 😆 Sup'd to hit 18c (64f) today & sunny, going to hit the dirty trails on the wheelers in a few hours.🤠
  12. 3 points
True those people are gone , but they are the ones that paved the trails for the future generations to travel and weapons have changed --- I know wouldn't want to be shooting musket balls at criminals with ARs ----- seems the Foundering Fathers had insight of what could happen and it sure seems like is about to happen , the de-arming of citizens and the letting loose of criminals from prisons , giving criminals more rights than citizens and spreading illegals across the country untested for corona , which is going to bring about another stiffer lock down , Steve Wonder could see that coming ---

Yes -- as said above check the grounds -- remove and clean
  14. 3 points
My opinion the reason for the 2A is two fold. To have a large group of citizens that could be called upon to defend the country and to install checks and balances to prevent a tyrannical government such as the one the founders were at that time were trying to distance themselves. I also believe the first and second Ammendment go hand in hand.

Hi all: new to this special forum! Years have ticked by as I have long been retired and have watched four wheelers grow from the three wheel Honda to the side by sides and always wanted to at least get a ride in one. I finally convinced my wife the clearing our 300+foot drive up here in New Hampshire that it would be lots easier to get rid of the snow by getting a used four wheeler and having it plow the drive instead of using our 9hp Honda track to blow the area. Oh,that only took 2+hours in the cold up and down numerous times. After lots of hunting on Craigs list I missed out on a couple of machines. I finally managed to find a 2005, 350 Honda Rancher basic model with very little use. I checked the price with my local dealer and they informed me it was way over priced for its age. I still went to look at the machine. It was very dirty but It showed little use. After unsuccessful negotiations I still purchased the Honda (wife not happy with $$) and gave the owner what I had in my pocket and promised to pick it up in a couple of days. (Cutting to end). The Hond cleaned up and it looks great and runs nicely as far as I can tell. Still getting use to the pedal shifting; and after installing a plow it has reduced my snow removal time by 75%. I park my Honda indoors to protect from rodents and the weather I even rinsed the snow off after each use.Sorry for the long story glad I found this great forum!

These floorboards on the 450 are for a 300 , did a little modification on the mounts , added some angle brackets to tuck in the fender flares after cutting them down some

We rode last saturday right before the big storms blew in. The little short fat buddy was ! about riding right before a storm, and @basfnb said "He's just worried the puddles will be over his head" River is still WAY up here. Too deep to get to some parts of where we usually ride. I took the little one out for a cruise yesterday afternoon. We have had a LOT of very hard, constant rain here this year. I'm seeing lots of tree roots on the trail now from water erosion. Been riding some places 10 years, and some of them are new this year (just cut) and they all show some major erosion from these spring storms.

3/8" & less it needs a new chain. It will run OK at 1/4" but the chain will slap the front chain guide and at 1/4" the chain may jump the upper sprocket at any moment. 1/4" is a time bomb.... D.I.D makes the best (OEM) chain for the TRX350s.

We called off the ride for tomorrow , they calling for severe rain all night and into tomorrow morning , I am not scared of flash flood warnings , but it appears some of my buddies are , not going to shut down the party , just ordered live crayfish to boil and lots of beer , come on down and sip some suds and suck some heads
  22. 2 points
I think it is time to change the chain from that pic , look in the manual for the recommendation --- I can't remember the numbers off the top my CRS head , but know it is a lot more than that

Yes it matters based on winch and load size. I have a 2500# winch. It takes 3/16. Break strength with synthetic is 5000#. Break strength should always be twice the load for safety.

Thats code 23 o2 sensor, I have a 17 rubi, I run only hi test in it ethanol free, and I dont do short runs with it as I know this is a common issue with these bikes, if I do short runs its usually after it is warmed up or I leave it idle, I've got over 5k on the bike now and over 400 hrs, so far how I've been doing it I have yet to have a problem. I did see that there is a company that sells an O2 delete kit now, but I've not heard any good or bad about it yet. Replacing the sensor will take the code away, not sure if you can run it hard enough to burn it all off the stuff causing the error, but I know I can get a good run in right now with the melting trails here....
  28. 2 points
Hi: That would be the O2 sensor (code 23) -- sensor is located on the muffler

Being an old Boy Scout I have always been prepared like you. Generator, fuel, water, food ammo etc. Several times it came in handy due to storms. I have no desire to live in a Mad Max world when even your best neighbor comes unhinged. TB, nobody NEEDS anything other than food, water and shelter. Why don't they take away cars to stop drunk driving? How about motorcycles that kill and maim thousands a year and on and on. In the 61 years I have been alive your rights as a Canadian have been seriously eroded. And that's too bad as I always considered you guys friends and neighbors. I use my high capacity mags at the range or prairie dog shooting. This morning I scored on 400rds of 9mm and 200rds of 45 at regular prices. 😁

I think it was mostly oil but the shaft was a little rusty. Ya the seal on the brake is out for sure and the bearing. Took the diff apart all the bearings are good and I think the seals were to but am going to replace the to I ordered everything.

Don't do that. I have a black plastic stock you can have. I much prefer wood. I took the black plastic stocks off of my kids' 10/22s and replaced them with wood stocks.

He is referring to the needle jet holder. It emulsifies fuel after fuel passes through the main jet. : Good clue... try bypassing the air cutoff valve vacuum supply by disconnecting the vacuum hose from the carb and plug that vacuum port. Then turn the pilot screw in & out again to see if the idle quality becomes more responsive.

Before this all started an AR carbine could be found for $399. and lowers for $39. Brownells had a retro with 20" 1/12 twist barrell, green furniture and no forward assist for $900. I wish I'd bought one but took my pennies and bought my wife her own TRX300FW.

That is a shame , when the President of the USA can't even spell ATF The way I see him , he is a con artist , a crook and a puppet who is controlled by the ones he is in debt to , he is not all there in his mind and body , clearly unfit to be President ---- I don't see him lasting thru the 4 year term nor do I foresee the Country lasting 4 years of him and his wrecking crew

The other members will chime in, esp. if i have this wrong: Take the adjuster out. It will spring out to fully extended. insert the extended tensioner. the further you can insert, the more slack the chain will have. should not be able to fully insert—should have a measurable gap. I don’t remember how much gap. to reinstall use a tiny screwdriver to lock the retracted adjuster in place then reinsert and bolt down before unlocking it i had a picture but can’t find it

It might be an oxygen sensor DTC. I would replace the fuel in the tank with fresh gas and ride it for about an hour to insure that the motor reaches operating temp. Run it hard once the motor is up temp to get the exhaust system as hot as you can, which might clean the O2 sensor off. Then clear any stored DTCs.

Similar to fishing reels, these winches aren’t always wound in under tension. Even steel cable will bite down into the spool but synthetic seems to bite down harder and deeper. Periodic rewinding the spool under tension is probably one way you can avoid this—like rewinding a fishing reel, you set your drag really high as you’re winding the line . i hook my winch to the trailer, disengage the winch and unwind it by backing out in reverse. Then, with the quad in neutral and feathering the brake, i engage the winch and pull myself back in. It’s a one-person job if you have a remote, but if not you could have a partner sit aboard while you guide the cable

What an awesome day, was about 32 degrees when we started but warmed to about 70 as a high. Was an interesting ride today I didnt expect as much snow as we ran into. So some of the trails we went on were labeled Black diamond, have been on them before but being's they are nestled in the trees, many were solid ice. Making the decent on some of them way more technical than what I'm normally used to. Planning how to maneuver a turn when corners are sharp and dry is one thing planning how your going slide around it without flying off the edges is another. Made for an exciting but tiring day. My Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 performed flawlessly. Since I was the designated leader I also doubled as the Guinea pig, made several walking trips back up the hill to guide others down and to ride my wife's machine down through several tricky areas. Was some of the best riding I've had to date, just had to think clearly and be careful. We stopped at a spot called "The Lunchroom" an area between these big slabs of rock with a couple of rudimentary tables to eat lunch. Am growing more fond of this area each time we ride it. Rode from about 9 until 4:30, with the slippery trails that was plenty. Got home about 5:30 spent 4 1/2 hours cleaning up the machines. Looking forward to the next ride.
