My grandfather retired as a Col, USAF. Flew B29's off of Tinian late in the war, ran a primary flying school for the early years. My Dad retired as a Col, Army. Served in Veitnam Mom's brother retired as a 2 star general, USAF. Flew Thuds in Vietnam, ran the F117 program when it was still at Groom Lake. All three of those men told me to NOT join the service. Clinton was POTUS at the time, and they said in the present day, politicians were using the military as a political tool, and that I would end up as cannon fodder in some 3rd world country we had no business being in. I still wish I'd served in some capacity, but given those three men saying "don't" is very telling. I very much respect those who have served even given the way our military industrial complex constantly uses them up and spits them out. They are special, and I treat them accordingly.

This article came across my desk about a month ago , I took it as B.S. , doubt she could have been that stupid to have admitted to saying something like that , even though no doubt I think she thought it , but you never know these days

I'm retired now and the only technology my brain can withstand any more is staring at my depth finder, GPS, phone and this website.😁

From what I have learned so far, Freecad (which is open-source) is a very good piece of software for creating and exporting 3D models. It is as good and in some comparisons, better than many commercial softwares. It's doubly attractive to me because it is available at zero cost and it runs great on Linux. Freecad has a steep learning curve, but they all do when the person is just starting out and doesn't know anything... such as myself. So I intend to stick with Freecad until I become capable with it. There are lots of tutorials on the 'net and lots of How-to vids on youtube too. I'll be leaning hard on them....

Nothing that would hold up long, but what the media and left don't seem to understand is that anyone with 1/2 of a normal IQ can manufacture a firearm with crap from the hardware store. Will it be pretty? Nope. Will it be safe? Probably not. Will it go bang? Yep. You get a skilled guy with a lathe and a mill and he can make anything you want. People who want gun control laws aren't logical or rational. They don't think things through very much or they would realize criminals, by definition, ignore laws. Of course, realistically, most people who want gun control really just want control. Guns are just in the way.

Wife and I just stopped at kenneys on the way back from the coast. They have great side options (I had gumbo and crab and corn bisque) and there was a ton of fried shrimp on my platter. I guess the crawfish pie was lagniappe. It was good. Anyway, we liked it. I remembered you mentioning it. So we stopped to try it out.

We all know fraud happened. The question is, will it be allowed to stand?

This is from a Carl Bernstein/Bob Woodward book supposedly related by Alexander Haig, all of whom strongly disliked Kissinger. Woodward/Bernstein have lost lots of credibility over the years. So I’m thinking he probably didn’t say it. But if he did, he had every right to. He was drafted into the army as a private and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and would know there’s a lot of truth to it.

I have a Kaw ATV motor apart on the floor of my kitchen right now with a disintegrated water pump bearing and a twisted off oil pump. It's beyond repair due to the cost of parts required to fix it. The crankshaft & rod, cylinder & piston, cam & rockers, waterpump shaft, oil pump and several bearings are all toast.

@retro I'm a mechanical design engineer by trade and have access to Inventor, an autodesk 3d modeling software. We print stuff off at work for test fits before machining with stainless steel. If you need a part drawn, feel free to reach out.

While we're on oil, Mobil 1 has a rebate going now. I got 2 5 quart jugs of Mobil 1 0W20 (wife's car uses it) extended performance for $24ish each at Walmart online, free shipping. Rebate is $15/jug (limit 2 per household) so got 2 5 quart jugs of Mobil 1 for about $10 each. Rotella also has a rebate now. Not a great one, but I got a 2.5 gal jug of T6 to use in the wheelers, and it had a $15 rebate on it.

Haven’t done anything new to the atv but did add a lift, tires/wheels and stereo to the golf cart. Wifey wanted the golf cart for going to campgrounds.

Sometimes it's the lesser of two evils. Them or Walmart it seems. This is coming direct from Castrol so it better be genuine. Sometimes I can't get what I want even after driving an hour so online I go. Spark plugs are one thing I never buy online. Too much counterfeitting there. Sometimes I'll find it on Amazon then buy it directly from the vendor for cheaper.
