Mother in law lived with us for a while. Put her up in the finished basement. The entire basement is below ground level so it's naturally cool in the summer but it's humid. I run a dehumidifier down there to keep it around a 50% humidity level but common sense sez to keep the door going to the basement closed. I don't know how many times I asked her to keep that damned door closed. She finally argued with me about it saying the dehumidifier worked so much better if the door was left open. It needed drained three times as often if the door was left she said.🙄😬. So if anyone experienced a drier than normal summer a few years back, you can thank my mother in law. And remember, these people vote.

We did but only the back straps. Marinaded for few days then I bacon wrapped & grilled. They were really good. Use mayo & hot sauce mixed together for the dip.

I got my rifle buck, muzzleloader doe and enjoyed practicing on them before doing my elk. after skinning, remove the inner loins. Then the outer loins (backstraps). Then quarter the animal. i start by doing the shoulders. My favorite is to separate the flat iron steaks from shoulder stew meat. You can always grind stew meat into burger. then i do the rear quarters. Be careful to remove the gland found at the center of those muscle masses. You have a top, bottom and eye roast but there’s much more going on there. You have tri-tip—sirloins etc. All these other pics are from two rear elk quarters Review some YouTubes on butchering elk—that really helped me.

I use a sous vide for cooking preseasoned elk and venison. For a loin, 3 hours at 130F. For tough cuts, more time (shanks, up to 3 days!

How do you find them? You get your brother to bushhog the same place again and you watch for the place where he starts swatting hysterically and jumping off of the tractor. That's where they'll be. 😁 It was a few weeks ago that I was trimming around my trailer where some old wood was stacked. I felt my legs start burning and when I looked down yellow jackets were all over my pant legs.. I took off swatting at them then stopped to knock them off of my pants. They just kept on coming. I got stung on the legs. arms and face. I still haven't destroyed their nest. This is the second time in my life that I've been attacked by yellow jackets. The first time I was about 15 years old hunting papaws with my dad. I don't know about ground hornets stinging at night but I can tell you that the hornets that have nests hanging from trees will sting at night if you bother them. Don't ask me how I know.

Hi and welcome to the forum! Seems like you have a few things going on but at least you don’t have the “black ink of death spots” on your display LOL- these are very common on the 450S speedometers and cannot be repaired Just shooting from the hip -I would say since your mileage and speed Isn’t working I would check your speed sensor as they commonly go bad The 450 S does not show gear position on their speedometers only the 450 ES, so that’s not an issue with your speedometer There are two power connections that go to the speedometer cluster and if one of them is bad the clock will not hold time and will reset every time you shut the key off Make sure you’re not unhooking the battery because if you unhook the battery it will not hold time Sometimes I also see this issue if someone uses a China replacement ignition switch as well I can tell you where to check for power at the speedometer connection if you have a multimeter -you want to make sure you have 12 V or battery voltage at the black with brown tracer wire and the red with black tracer wire Let me know what you find out

Bear season is about over here but I didn't do that. We did shack work and mowing/brushing. Ruffed grouse season opens September 18th. That is my main passion and my hunting shack is smack in the middle of the wildest country and best grouse hunting in the continental U.S. My friend was headed to Texas though and I went with since I've never been here. Hoping to wack a few coyotes as I mentioned on another post. Just arrived today and be home on the 20th. Then I'll grouse hunt a couple days when we get back take a couple days to regroup and go back for 15 days straight. That will be a good start. Told my wife I will see her at Thanksgiving. 😁

Picked this up this morning after a long wait, and a few compromises, it’s a 2022 Rubicon 520 EPS IRS, so footshift with powersteering like my other one just not a “deluxe”. It has a 3500lb Kolpin Winch with synthetic cable and heat demon hand/thumb warmers. Stock tires on for now, couldn’t get Mud Bugs, so I ordered 28” Swamp Witches off eBay, figured I’d give those a try. Should be here next week. first impressions, not much as changed since they came out 7 years ago, but still a nice machine, 520 seems to pull harder than the 500, more mid range-top end but hard to make a true comparison as I’ve never ran the 500 on stock tires. True test will be when the Swamp Lites are on. Rubicant 1.0 isn’t going anywhere, although I’ve been neglecting it a bit lately and it’s in need of a rear diff rebuild.

yeah I don’t really agree with the idea of not offering a true base model, but I guess the EPS must be popular enough of an option.

I never wanted, nor cared about the cheap "russian" steel cased stuff. I realize the impact it can have on short term pricing/supply, etc. I did clean my closet this weekend and was pleased to have found more 5.56 than I remembered. So I ping'ed my friend and told him to offer his 1,000rds to someone else who might be inn need.. Cause shy of a Red Dawn event, I'm in reasonable/responsible good shape on my inventory..and I'm gettin too dang old to hang with the Wolverines (grin). This year saw the addition of another pistol, and more ammo for it. Optics as well. then the nice surprise of the old school Colt AR15 match rifle. so my fun money really is spent. AT this point, I prefer to have some cash on hand during a bad day as well as bullets...so the balance is struck and I've officially taken the temptation off my plate.

Really a pain to do more than coarse butchery in camp. Guys wanna drink and talk and some don’t know how to cut! i hated going to a pheasant camp that used a dirty shop workbench as a cutting table. Guys there never cleaned their pliers🤢 Ideally you have a good clean cutting table, sanitizing agents, gloves, knives and sharpener, paper and tape. The team I’m on is real good ( I’m the newby). I bought a used cutting table and replaced the poly boards—it gets packed into the trailer.

first off...thank you for posting this pic. my wife, being a sweetie, bought me one of these a couple years back. But I wanted it out the way as much as possible so I mounted it more at a cant. the result is it sticks way the heck up in the air and looks kinda silly. my old 300 doesn't have a super long rear rack, but this still might be the better way to go.. I'll have to try it. I don't want to hurt her feelings cause she was good to get it for me...if I were on a weekend outing, yeah, that's the place for a long gun to live. for just running around my property doing a security sweep, I tend to just toss a shotgun into a soft scabbard and sling it over my back. two different scenarios I know, but yes, I want to show her that I like the Kolpin and use it more often.

Ordered a rebuild kit. The jets were clogged up something fierce (couldn't poke a bread tie wire through one of them) so I used the jets out of the carb kid. Rode it around a bit yesterday and that seems to have fixed it. I told him to come get it and to SELL IT while it's running good. He said that is the plan; his kid is big enough now to move to a bigger bike anyway. Looks like these aren't even made by Kawasaki. They're a rebranded Kymco

Welp, he found the nest, the hornets are still buzzing around it, least the approximate location. e's still itching, and has red areas. those ground hornets must pack a whollop!! i seen 1 of the stingers on one, 3/8 and they can do mutable stings. the only thing i found to help the itch was ichthemol, castor oil, an maybe amonia.

Found these at Rural King. When the Hummingbird feeder sugar water gets changed it get recycled to the Yellow Jacket traps. Concave bottom with a hole and cork up top. These do not trap Honey Bees. Just Yellow Jackets.

I seen one way to take the ground hornets , take a bowl with apple cider / 2 cups , sugar / 2 cups and Dawn dish water liquid / 2 table spoons , they will come to drink and get the Dawn on their bodies and it will mess them up and they fall into the bowl and drown

I was with my buddy at his hunting land in Texas. Between his land and a nearby friends I mowed trails all over a combined 600 acres. It was in the 90's every day and 97 yesterday. Also put up feeders, cameras and checked deer stands. One afternoon it was 95 and the hitch broke on the mower. Lots of fun welding in those temps. Saw tons of deer, quite a few turkeys and some quall. To bad he had a Piglarus to pull the mower.💩

least you got the rain need jeep...(thumbs up) . i recall back years ago.... when it was so hot and dry here, a man could cut (what there was) hay in the am, and rake / role the same hay in the evening, and fires broke out everywhere, that year we wetted down hay rollers and equiptment at the end of the day, and waited around for a time after shut down, now those were bad times. farmers were even having to haul water to live stock. a good friend of mine was trampled watering his cattle, and crops never did turn out, but that was an exceptional long dry hot season, the likes of we haven't seen again.

houses are designed wrong for heat an air. vents for cold should be at the top of the house/room, heat at the bottom house/room. [AFM air flow matters.] it could be done. [lets have riots and burn others property, to stress those points. AFM; AFM; AFM; ya got to carry signs though]. anyway the vents could be returns or delivery...

Low refrigerant can cause this. Or so I've been told. I would think excess humidity it the air would cause the evaporator coil to ice up too. Like waiting until conditions in the home are unbearable before turning on the AC.

I don't currently hunt...so I've not paid attention to the calendar..but it was obvious hunting season had begun by the number of trucks hauling ATVs around this past weekend. You woulda thought there was a convention or something (grin).

I got a chance to introduce three ladies to the joy of 4wheelers today. My sister from the Bay area, her good friend and my niece. My niece got to set off a # of tannerite with a .223 the last time she was here.

Hi toodeep! You can switch the polarizing films all around its not too hard to do, gives kind of a reverse kind of look, like a photo negative look I have put different colored plastic films between the led backlight and the rear of the LCD, its pretty easy for anyone to do I made my buddy one that ended up having a low red glow, good for nightime driving, also put a kill switch that just turns off the display light completely so its not distracting while driving at night I always wanted to rig up a dimmer switch so you could adjust the backlight like in an auto, but being LEDs (the non dimmable kind) I never got around to it-yet My buddy told me he built a dimmer for his, I went over and he had put a couple layers of window tint on it- LOL

I mostly stick to the foreman 450 and Rancher 350ES displays as I am very familiar with these models and its getting harder for members to find replacements plus i have the wiring and pinout data to help sort out issues I can look at others models or help you troubleshoot displays on a case by case basis depending on what is wrong

Thanks! I have about 75-80 done over the last few years, only a few members here and there post pics of completed work With that being said- the resolution or pixels from last poster made the last display picture look "off" or blotchy Here are the finished work pictures on that same display, just for clarification on what a completed display will look like (have to cover green neutral LED with thumb a bit, or it washes out the picture)

Highly recommend @AKATV if you are in need of a display repair. He got my Foreman 450 screen looking brand new. My display arrived at his place late in afternoon, he fixed it that night and He had it headed back my way first thing in the morning. I’m glad I just happened to stumble across this thread while searching the internet for parts bc @AKATV was far cheaper than any other option I was seeing. Thanks again for your help. A few before and after pics

Thanks for the pictures I can get you taken care of no problem, looks like you have sunburn damage, possible water intrusion I sent you my contact info in a message if you like to get it repaired If for some reason I am unable to there is no charge Been doing this for years now and have seen just about everything imaginable -lol

Usually a flat 45.00 , but lets make sure your display isnt sunburnt etc... or the circuit card is not water damaged etc. I have these repairs down pat, so theres not too much I cannot fix on them at this point, save for a cracked glass which can also be replaced

if there is a seal ?, its not to tell if the miles or hours have been tampered with ?, it will be for warranty reasons. like it was said ^^^, if a crook wants to be dishonest about hours/miles on an atv, WHATS STOPPING THEM FROM BUYING A BRAND NEW METER/DISPLAY ????..nothing !!!!. a good point though, if a buyer can't tell by looking at an atv, and see the wear on it , and it does not match the miles/hours ?, then they dont need to be on one !..rofl.
  41. 1 point
nope ..... never said you did , nor anyone else, lol! but as stated the topic sure has turned grayish .... personaly if it was me .... I'd learn to do it myself ... for my own machine .(THAT I WOULD NOT SELL ) ... and in the second place it was a bad choice for them to be designed to be reprogrammable for milage / hours ... that being said ... i don't see one thing wrong with a screen repair. question ... is there not a tamper seal of some sort that shows the meter has been opened up ? third ... if had to replace the meter on a used machine .... i would document the milage / hours and date via, pictures, or video of the old meter ... along with dates of servicing, including the hours, and miles written down.
  42. 1 point
It sure does open up a gray area of conversation !
  43. 1 point
only time i install a brand new meter ?, is when i do a complete engine over haul ( which is most of the time ! ), other than this ?, i don't replace them to sell for lower miles. but like i said, i put new on my atv projects when i rebuild the engine, and thats a 100% chance,,as most atvs i buy are basket cases !..lol.

no, i wouldn't think the law applies here, ether .. https://www.justice.gov/civil/case/federal-odometer-tampering-statutes i was answering fishes question, tampering with a legit vihicle is.

other than keep up with hours/miles, time ?, no, it does nothing but show you what gear your in. unless your using the oem factory settings like the neutral light, oil light, and the 4x4 light ?, i see it does nothing.
  47. 1 point
(just kidding it was sent into to me for reprogramming) This is what happens to your speedometer milage and hours when you run without a battery or let it go dead -( which is really hard on your stator and voltage reg too) This is actually a 450ES-notice the gear position area is missing, which is common as well sometimes the miles and hours go to all 999999999.s or mising also FYI- I have a new EEPROM file for the Foreman 450ES that I can load It is 942mi and 109hrs, if that is closer to your original speedometer reading

My 20 year old 450 still looks good. I've only had it less than 2 years but always garage kept with me. It looks like it must not have been out in the elements too much where she spent her other 18 years either, still bright and clear....
