So I kept the foot guards off the quad I just sold so good score for me. One was broke, so I just welded it up. (I need more practice) she’s gonna hold though. I’m gonna sand down, use my HVLP paint gun & prime, then spray with black implement paint. Be a nice addition to my rig!

Sold the quad last nite. Buddy coming to pick it up today. I sold it for what I paid for it, plus kept the engine, front diff & shaft!! so after I have my coffee, it to the garage to pull the engine & parts I’m keeping. It was a nice WIN for me.

Got the new db starter in today. Along with a new engine sub-harness (one of the wires to the F position sensor was intermittently losing connection). Good thing we had to do them both at the same time too cause same parts had to be removed for access to do both jobs. That db starter sure seems stronger than the OEM starter. Has never fired up so fast.

Hi Guys, New to the group. I have been riding Honda ATVs all my life. I currently have a 04’ Rancher, 01’ Recon and 05’ TRX450r. I really just needed a post so that I could send a PM. Glad to be part of the group!

I actually RODE my atv today. Gorgeous day, lower 80’s with a gusty wind blowing. Lots of mud but not a complete bog. Perfect riding day The new snorkel kept water out of the engine but the Rancher died every time he went in up to the seat. No idea what caused it to die, but probably a good thing unless I want to rebuild that engine constantly.

Yes, a tandem bike can be easily steered from the rear even though the rear handlebars don't move. I had to remind my wife her job was to pedal and mine to steer. Anytime a car was overtaking us she would lean us toward the ditch.

I'll get started on a trigger link next week, I'll be in touch....

Great info guys. I ordered a DB that first night. Will definitely hang onto the original one in case the DB tanks. @retro I'll keep that offer in mind. I won't bother you with the starter right away, this DB one should outlive the rest of Rancher if it gets half the life of the original one. I'm definitely still interested in the trigger link though. I should show you the latest excal things I've done too.

Really stupid mistake yesterday. Luckily I was off to the side. In my nightmare of a shop I’ve misplaced the new intake boot I ordered for my buddy’s 450. Got frustrated and was looking in the drawers of one of my big stackable tool chests (probably 48” long and about 5.5 feet high, top unit sitting on bottom cabinet). When you open several drawers at once bad things happen; weight goes to the front and the whole thing tipped over and dumped. Just took me a couple of hours to get my tools put back where the belong. Had I been in front of it it could have been ugly….
