  1. @op , what is up with the ignition switch , what the heck is that..a push button switch ?..lol.
  2. yep, that is the fuel pump i hear, its not suppose to '' tick '' like that unless its not picking up fuel from the tank, in other words, no fuel is reaching the pump.
  3. welcome to the forums, is it getting spark to spark plug ?, if its not ?, then it wont fire and run. if it is getting spark at plug ?, then this is a compression issue ?, or timing issue ?.
  4. they should be very close in yr models stateboy.
  5. i sent you a pm, i'd advise you to read it.
  6. timing marks on the flywheel can be 360 out bro !. the piston reached top dead center on exhaust stroke as well as compression stroke !. you can not go by the timing mark on flywheel...UNLESS YOU KNOW FOR 100% THE PISTON IS ON TOP DEAD CENTER ON THE COMPRESSION STROKE !.
  7. and you know this..HOW ??. because the piston is on top dead center ?..sorry bro..but the piston can be on top dead center on the exhaust stroke as well as the compression stroke !.
  8. i really wish folks would try to understand there is two ways to adjust valves !!!. one of these ways is the wrong way..lol. valves MUST be adjusted on the compression stroke, NOT the exhaust stroke !.
  9. welcome to the forums. now quick..take it back,,trade it for a manual shift model !..lol.
  10. depending on how '' stuck '' the brake shoes are to the drums ?, will depend on which way you get the drums off. honda does not make ( that i know of ? ) a hub remover tool , but you can make one yourself if you have an old worn out hub from a front 4wd atv from honda. before you start that, lets try a few simple ways. first remove the two 8mm head bolts from the drum front, they attach the drum to the hub. then take two flat head large screw drivers, reach in from the outer drum edge, and try prying the drum off evenly from the backing plate. you will need to spin the hub/wheel a few times when doing this. its best to have the wheel off the ground, an atv jack works great to get the whole atv up, all 4 wheels off the ground make it easier to rotate the wheels when working in them. if the drum still wont budge ?, remove the brake inspection plug out of the drum ( its round and red ), spray some wd-40 into the drum, rotate the hub with a pry bar wedged across the studs, then go back to the screw driver method with prying, this might take a few times doing it this way. if this fails ?, then just remove the castle nut off the axle , it is a 22mm metric castle nut, pull the drum and hub all off at once, then you can get to the brake shoes, you still might find it hard to pull all this off if the brake shoes are wedged into the brake drum. if all this fails ?, then its time to make a hub remover tool. a front worn out 4wd hub, and old c-clamp, and now you weld the screw part of the c-clamp onto the hub's outside center, hammer, press out the lug studs to clear the holes, now you can slide the tool over the wheel studs on wheel, screw the screw part of it down onto the end of the axle , use this like a pully puller.
  11. its going to be valves adjusted wrong ?, or bad valve seats..i'll bank on it !.
  12. sounds like valves are not adjusted right to me.
  13. link does not work. odd..it works when i qoute it ?..lol
  14. you are posting files asking to be opened ?, most of us wont do this, upload a video to youtube, then post a link in this thread.
  15. i used the same pics on cl's that are posted here.
  16. whats the problem with these ?. i use them all the time, they are easy to remove..IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DO IT ?!..LOL. a pair of angled side cutters, and walla..they lift right out.
  17. only one way you will find out what the problem is ?..TEAR IT DOWN AND LOOK !.
  18. FINAL UPDATE: SHE'S ALL DONE, LISTED IN CL'S. asking $ 3,800.00 cash.
  19. could be anything ?, depending on who did the rebuild on what they know about these models ?, say's alot about what they can do right or wrong !. without seeing it in person..tearing into it ?, it will be hard to tell you what all is wrong with it. alot of the early trx350tm/fm ranchers had a defective valve seat from the factory, once warmed up, they would work up and out of the head, sit there and clatter under the valve spring and valve seat made into the head.
  20. have you cross referenced this front drive shaft to see what all other modes may use the same part ?. some times honda parts will swap from models to models, years to years. look to see if a 450 front drive shaft will work ?, or a trx500 front drive shaft ?, if any of them will swap in ?, i bet i could locate you one !.
  21. update: almost done !. got the oil temp to connect on bottom, install bottom skid plate, install front boot protectors, then i will be done, should have it done by the end of tomorrow ?, we'll see how my day goes ?..lol.
  22. dump the tank of fuel, sitting for 3 months is a no no when you do not run it..or treat the fuel ?. alot of the ranchers with fuel pumps have/had defective fuel pumps..not saying yours is one of them ?, but keep this in mind. it is fuel injected..could also be a dirty fuel injector ?. never..ever..let them sit that long without running them ?, or treating the fuel for long storage ?. you say it idles fine..but dies under a load ?, i'd say the fuel pump or dirty fuel injector is where i'd look.
  23. yeah, when i buy a atv..its pretty much a basket case from the get go !..lol. i rebuild/restore them to new ( or as new as i can ? ) as i like my projects to be the best on the market, my work shows this, as well as my happy buyers.
  24. update: if i can finish this build ?, the folks that bought the '04 trx450S say they have some one that is interested in buying this build ?!. we'll see here in a few more days. i got a few things to do to make it a decent ride. i got the front rack and front bumper painted, need to get the front fender installed, fix the head lights in the grill/buckets, get them to work, install the tail lights and working, rear rack painted and installed, wheels painted and installed, drop the seat on ( new seat ), then make sure it runs, stops..she'll be ready. these buyers that bought the '04 trx450S also want me to build them 2-3 trx300fw's for their kids ?..aghhhh...lol. i told them i build them as well, have a few to choose from the bone yard. i need to hire some help !..lol.
