  1. ask yourself...JUST HOW BAD DO YOU WANT TO FIX IT UP ????. is a 6 or 7 hour drive worth it in the long run ?. my bud has a few of these old girls at his place, he lives close to me, if i were you ( and i know i am not ! ) i would hit yer bank up , load up, head my way, buy my fender, or ?, take a ride out to his place, and see what you can buy from him at a cheaper price ?, he has lots of parts for these, DO NOT PASS THIS UP !. as you will find out, OR ALREADY HAVE ?..parts for these are very, VERY hard to locate ??, and if you do locate them ?, THEY WILL NOT BE CHEAP !!!!. i'm cutting you one heck of a deal for the fender i have, spec in the shape it is !!. you will not find one in this shape, AT THIS PRICE ANYWHERE !!. but hey..its yer time, yer money. i've been dealing with these models for the most part for 29..almost 30 yrs now, I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT HERE !. do as you wish, but if you want solid gold advice ?, you better jump on this offer. what ever you do ?.. GOOD LUCK...YOU WILL NEED IT !..LOL.
  2. update: well, been a few sense i updated this thread, figured i get back on this , now that i have a 2004 trx450fm waiting on my love..lol. i was out in the shop sunday from 10:00 pm until 4:00 am working on front brakes , painting the engine, changing two bad tie rods. i got all the front brakes working great, engine painted, and tie rods replaced with some '' better '' tie rod ends. i'll take some progress pic's here soon this morning when i head out to the shop. i did pick up some '' better '' tires for this yesterday from catfishes place, while i was shopping for some parts for my 2004 trx450fm project. i'll get the rims broke down '' better '' tires mounted on the rims today, i just hope they do not leak air ?..lol. i don't mind doing the work, but if they leak air ?, its useless to me. anyway, more info to come on this project, got a ton of little stuff to get done to it. gonna get the wire harness installed back on the frame here this morning, then start adding smaller parts back on as i go. will update this thread soon with more pics !.
  3. other than the wire harness being a mess, which does not help !. it is very posb you installed the gear position switch 180 out ?. not what you wanted to hear i'm sure, but you will need to pull the rear cover ( stator ) and check the switch to make sure you have it installed the correct way. once back apart, notice the tang on switch, longest end faces, rest over the letter N that is stamped below on top of the plastic piece , if the tang is not set this way ?, it will give you problems.
  4. ok, when you are saying neutral switch, you mean the gear position switch, correct ?.
  5. yep, thats the oem snorkel, only problem is, i got a brand new one on the way..lol.
  6. give him my number, yes, i will be selling it, its coming off !..lol. problem is, is welded to the rack, so he will have to take all of it, and grind the welds off to use the basket. asking $ 200.00 OBO for the whole thing.
  7. first, which on/off switch we talking about here ?, ignition switch ?, or '' kill '' switch ?. and were all these parts oem from honda..and not some b.s. china knock-off parts ?.
  8. SXS's are useless !. as you seen, they are limited on space ?, no where near small enough to go where 4-wheelers go. and they cost about 3 times as much!, nope, i'll stick with old school. outstanding pics !!!.
  9. umm..i used a trx450fm disk brake kit when i put it on my '89 trx350D , are the kits the same for both 300 and 450fm ?. ( maybe i did order a trx300fw kit ) , i'm forgetting more than i remember these days !..lol.
  10. ask, and you shall receive !. there is a metal clip that snaps around that round part on the switch where the cable sits in, have a look here ---> Honda 90651-HM7-720 - CHOKE CABLE CLIP | Partzilla.com . check in my mail ?..lol. get-r-done !. oh, i only use partzilla because they have a better micro fich than rocky mountain atv ( which is where i buy all my honda parts from ! ), they are cheaper than partzilla.
  11. $ 400.00 cash, you pick up, i will not ship, been there, done that with plastic fenders in the past, worst time of my life. now you are thinking, gee..thats a lot of money for a trx350 fender !, um..nope..its not..not when i've seen them in worst shape than mine sell on ebay for $ 1,500.00 bucks !. these fenders are very, VERY RARE !, SPEC IN GOOD SHAPE THESE DAYS !. if you do come and buy it ?, you really should locate a front grill and clear sub-lights, cuz i'm pretty sure this fender of mine will not swap in your amber fog lights, grill is not the same !.
  12. forget the front drum brakes, they are not worth it !. go high lifter or super atv front disk brake kit ( super atv is cheaper cost wise ). knuckles are the same bolt pattern, does not matter about the drums being smaller in size, its the bolt pattern you worry about. i have a front fender made for a '89 trx350D foreman i'll sell ya, but it wont be cheap !., it will bolt right on yours if you convert the sub lights to clear, because i don't think ( by memory ) that the front fender uses the same grill pattern ?. most oem parts for these are no longer around, what little parts are still sold today ?, are very...very few !. the biggest issue you face is motor/drive line parts, as these are deff not around new !. a lot of important bearings are discontinued today, so its used ?, or after market if you can locate them ?. as for the front disk brakes ?, you will need to use 12 inch rims that are made for at least a '03 trx450fm foreman, direct bolt on, no lift required. may as well slap some itp mudlites on them as you go. toss in a new cam chain from D.I.D. do not use after market china cam chains !. piston kits are getting very hard to find, not many around today. i would toss the metal fuel tank, and go with a plastic fuel tank, no rust..ever !. and trust me, when you rebuild the carb with a shindy carb rebuild kit ?, you will never have to worry about rust in the carb again !. here is my '89 trx350D foreman that i installed front disk brakes, 12 inch rims and itp mudlite tires. i did have to do some fab work on the foot wells ?, but not much.
  13. ok, ty, np, i'll come up with it later, i may even have a '' spare '' sitting somewhere ?..lol.
  14. Got it unloaded. best news of the day ?..THE CRANK IS GREAT !. not so much for the plastics, rear rack where it mounts to frame. very happy the crank is in great shape, already know where to buy a top end rebuild kit for cheap. don't bother checking every day for new info, this is on the back burner for now, i've got to finish that trx300fw !. as you can see from the piston ?, it looks very well to me, it hydro locked, and blew the piston apart. engine will get removed, split, gone through, new cam chain, oil seals, all the normal stuff i do when rebuilding engines. the meter seems to be in good shape as far as the lcd screen ?, hard to tell by the outer plastic cover a tad nasty looking. anyway, i think i scored a good one on this so far.
  15. i'll be the first to tell ya, yes..some of them can be a royal pain in the butt !. fish is correct, make sure you get all dirt, mud, anything out of the latch area !!. once this is done, you will notice there is 2 different clips on one side ?, one clip is for latching it onto the frame tang, the other clip can either be a push pull type ?, or a press outward type ?. the trick is making sure no dirt is down in beside the area where you force the clip out, reason being is, if dirt is down in there ?, the clip latch/hook does not have enough space to go out, clear the tang, and let you pull it apart. this is why fish and me are saying you MUST make sure the connection is very clean, or you will fight big time trying to get it apart. also, what is this model you are working on ?. all models are not the same !.
  16. if ya get stumped ?, buy a shindy carb rebuild kit, load that puppy up, haul it up to me, i'll give it the shadetree touch :-).
  17. deff want the muffler, head lights from that top right photo bro, do not need the header pipe heat shield, let me get this unloaded here soon, i'll get some better pics, we'll work on some swapping :-).
  18. i think so, time will tell !..lol.
  19. rev's light always on ?, sounds like a bad gear position switch to me ?. es model ?..SELL IT !..lol.

my berretta came out of tn, made solid, so i think. least tn can do SOMETHING right ?!..lol.
  21. Well, waited long enough, finally scored a project !. rough shape, blown engine ( does the snorkels give it away ? ), guy came down from 750 to 500, made the drive, decided not to even jew him down. needs some love and parts, will be my winter project. gotta finish this trx300fw before i start in on this. here's a few pics in the truck bed, to tired and bad back, need to rest, will post more pics soon !.
  22. left rear tube, one bearing, one oil seal. right rear brake panel, one oil/dust seal, two bearings. like i said, you can look this up on rocky mountain atv web site, or partzilla.com
