  1. I was going through the clymer manual and I unplugged the big connector on the ECU and then I got everything back. Neutral, reverse lights and the gear position shows up and works as it should. I've tried 2 different ECU's and I have the same result. But when I started checking things with the multimeter the black/green wire only has .07 volts. I checked the wire from the fuse box to the kill switch and to the ECU. It shows continuity. Could it be the resistance in the wire, maybe partially broken somewhere?
  2. I'm beginning to think that my problem is not with my ECU but possibly in my wiring harness. The book says that the black/green wire should have 11v minimum and I have. 07v so I think that maybe I have a harness problem
  3. Yes I put the long tang on the N when I put the cover back on the motor. I recently tried a different ECU, and it did the same thing. When I unplug the big plug from the ECU the dash lights work as they should and I also get my gear position back. I get the same results with both ECU's.
  4. I have a 99 Honda foreman 450es 4x4. My electric shift isn't working. I have -- where the gear position is supposed to be and both of my neutral and reverse lights are on no matter what gear it's in. I have changed the gear position switch, angle sensor, shift motor, ECU computer. I'm at a loss at what is going on with my bike. Can someone please help me. Thanks, Shawn
  5. This is the one I need, I found one local tonight so if it's good I wont be needing it anymore. But if it's not good, I'll get ahold of you and see if we can work out a deal. Thanks Shawn
  6. Jeepwm69, Would you happen to have a ECU for a 98-01 Honda Foreman 450es 4x4. It is the computer system that controls the ESP system. It has 2 plugs and the left plug has 5pins and the right has 16pins, also the top of the box it tapered. It is located under the CDI box and the Fan Control Unit on the front center of the frame. I'm trying anything I can do to keep from paying $200-$300+ for a new factory OEM part. Thanks, Shawn

  11. Just curious, but is that rancher still for sale?
  12. Check the pickup that is mounted beside the stator. I lost my spark and that was my problem.
  13. It sounds to me like you have a bad angle sensor. I suggest that you get a honda/OEM replacement angle sensor. Chances are that this will fix your problems.
  14. You can check your shift motor by connecting it directly to the battery with jumpers. If it shifts then you know that it is good. Connect the orange wire to the positive side of the battery and the green wire to the negative side. I was dealing with my foreman 450es it was totally unresponsive. I did all the troubleshooting tests and checked out every wire and connection on my foreman. I finally found out that the little black sensor that has a 3 prong plug on the end of it which is mounted on top of the shift control motor was bad. I changed that sensor and it works like a brand new one. Hope this helps you with your bike. Thanks, Shawn
