I have a 2005 Honda trx350fe. I started having shifting issues a couple of years ago, at that time there was not any gear indicator on the dash. That made it difficult to see any trouble codes. I replaced the ecu, wire harness and angle sensor, no improvement in shifting or gear indicator. I gave up and purchased a shift bypass kit which let it shift. i put it back together and rode it, but you had to control your engine speed. I decided to use it this fall and it shifts between n and 1st and sometimes reverse, but nothing above 1st. I have checked the shift motor which tries to shift when installed and spins freely when removed. The reduction gears look good, but need grease. I have the machine on stands and it shifts with the tool through all gears. The machine starts and runs good. Would like some insight please, thanks

I already downloaded a service manual. But it. Does not say much about the display other than basic tests -

I saw in another forum that if a display needs to be reprogrammed ig the battery has been disconnected for too long. The gear display is the only item missing on display Also it won't even try to shift with ES, shifts great with manual tool. I need to have the gear position indicator working to trouble shoot the shifting issue. Any help would be appreciated.
