Paging AKATV please or other who know about display

Recommended Posts

I would have sent a message, but I need to post first before I'm allowed.

@AKATV, I have heard good things about your work.  Maybe you can help?  I have an 03 rancher 350 ES 4x4.  The display all appears to work, but faded out in the middle towards the bottom.  I can't really read the hours and miles.

I wanted to just purchase a new one, but they are NLA from Honda.  Part # 37200-HN5-M11

I attempted to just use a display from a non ES model, but the plug is different.  Part # 37200-HN5-671

I do see a "meter sub harness" for the non ES meter Part # 32300-HN5-671, but I'm not sure what that does.

Could I just use a whole wire harness from a non ES?

Thanks for any help you can provide!!

Hey I just got your page- lol

I can get you taken care of no problem, you dont need a new meter or harness

Your meter sounds like it has the typical UV sun damage from sitting in sun for many years

It is quite common on the older Honda ATV displays

Can you post a picture of what you have going on so we can see?

I have sent you my contact information as well if you want to have it repaired

Thanks for the quick response. Before I pulled the motor out the neutral and reverse lights worked and so did the gear selector.  They are not now prob due to ground issue. Anyway here is how the display looks.

You will have to open up the speedometer and remove the circuit card with the LCD display assembly and ship that to me and I can get it repaired

I hit it with a little glass cleaner. You can’t see the display unless the screen is a little wet.

Mine on my 02 was worse than yours and he made it look new.  He'll probably have some tips on restoring the "glass" on the cover and there's some videos on youtube that are helpful.

Well I sent my meter to AKATV last week. It was in rough shape. He had it repaired and in route back to me in a day or two. It’s like new again. So if your having issues with yours, you can bet AKATV is your speedo repair hookup. I have attracted before and after pics. Thanks again Ron. 👍🏼

I am also seeking to contact AKATV about my display. I have a 2004 Honda Rancher 350 ES. We have had intermittent battery drain. When we had it serviced, they told us the meter is the parasitic drain source.

As always, the Honda part 37200-hn5-m11 is now discontinuted. I have searched high and low, considering this machine is otherwise in great condition. Can the board be repaired, or is there a reliable source to

find scavaged parts? The machine is sitting in a garage disassembled as we speak, and I can have them pull the Meter Combo if it is something that can be repaired. Of course, the screen is also UV damaged.
I would love a reply and contact of it this can be done? [email protected]

Hi Chel B and welcome to the forum!

I have never seen battery drain on the Honda Rancher 350 due to a speedometer yet, but I am aware the Foreman 450 had an issue with that and Honda made a module to go inline with the harness to stop the battery drain.

Not sure if it’s something that might happen on the Rancher 350 as well?

I have seen quite a few voltage regulators have a bad diode and cause

a drain, as well as just having a weak or old battery not holding a charge

I can repair you UV damaged meter for you if you want and I have sent a message with my contact info as well

Hey

This may be a duplicate message.  I’m new to this.

I have 2005 350 rancher 4wd.  It has a speedometer that comes and goes.  It is part number 37200 hn5 m11.  They seem to be discontinued.  Could you rebuild / restore the speedometer?

best

 Vern
