On the other side of things, for the doctor, they now have to have several full time employees to keep up with how they bill your insurance company. The insurance companies will completely deny the claim if an i isn't dotted or a t isn't crossed, and sometimes even if everything is done exactly right, they will still deny the claim. Then the doctor's staff has to resubmit the claim and hope to get paid. I firmly believe the insurance companies automatically deny a certain % of claims that are done 100% correctly, just to hold on to money for a few months while the doctor's office resubmits the claim. When insurance does finally pay,the amount they will be paid is likely 20-50% of the amount you are billed. So that's healthcare for you. The patient is stuck between the doctor's office and an insurance company who are both trying to screw the other party, because the other party is trying to screw them. Some say we need government-run healthcare, but to that I saw, anyone want to take a guess as to when healthcare went full on nuts? That's right, when .gov got involved in the process.

Kevron 68 Posted August 13, 2021 My mom and dad cut out salt after his stroke. They never salted anything and would use ms dash instead. Came back to eventually put mom in hospital after she passed out and they said her sodium was too low! Hard to eliminate sodium in your diet, ever had blackeyed peas without salt?
Fishfiles 20,145 Posted August 13, 2021 After becoming aware of the labels on food packaging , there is so much sodium in the stuff we eat

My brother-in-law is one of these weird food hippies who won't eat anything normal. I'd rather die 10 years younger than be miserable my whole life. BUT, when you look at people now vs 60 years ago, and see how much processed crap we eat now, and realize that most of it is not for flavor, but because it makes the food cheaper, and with a longer shelf life, you realize that we're killing ourselves by eating some of this crap. Eating out is even worse. If you look at the nutritional labels on fast food, you'd never eat it. So I just don't look at it. LOL Seriously though, I'm trying to eat a little healthier. I don't eat a lot of just garbage anyway, but I'm trying to do even better.
Misterclean 418 Posted August 13, 2021 (edited) Me too Jeep. I don't eat fast food much but I must admit when I cook for myself there is a lot of salt and butter in it!!!! Then later on I get out the Blue Bell. .....Well that was up until about six months ago. I'm 62 now and started feeling poorly. My diet change made me feel much better. The buttholes are the ones who just don't WANT to eat certain things. These are more like "I don't eat gluten, dairy, sugar, meat, fish, or green vegetables". WTH are you supposed to feed that type of person?
