Fishfiles 20,145 Posted April 2, 2020 After some consultation with this 350 Guru guy I know them 4 little green o-rings off to the right in the bag are for the valve guides , don't think "you " will be changing them ------ That cracked off case should be ok , I might clean it up good and apply some JB Weld or similar putty , then file and sand it flat , even if the area of repair was a little wider , it wouldn't matter ---- You remind me of my wife , she will plan things to the extreme , I call her wishy washy , LOL -----

Would some epoxy resin do the job just as good as jb weld at repairing the case? Hahah that's funny. I do like plan things Lol 🙂
Fishfiles 20,145 Posted April 3, 2020 JB Weld epoxy stick for aluminum or Minute Mend would be my choice , I use JB Weld kind of like generic name
jeepwm69 7,600 Posted April 3, 2020 I'm with Shade on that spot. I think given that there's a little lip there where you'll have contact, that some hondabond on that will seal it fine. If you want to do some epoxy there it certainly wouldn't hurt, but I think it would be ok without it.
TrxPipUK 169 Posted April 3, 2020 Finished cleaning out the cases today and removing the old gaskets. Then I put everything back in and put the two cases together, not bolted in yet though. Next up is to clean out the side covers. Getting close to being done now 🙂

TrxPipUK 169 Posted April 4, 2020 Thanks everyone! Means a lot coming from the pros. Couldn't have done it without the help (well I might of but it would have been a whole lot messier lol). Had to order some more starter fluid yesterday for the side covers, used mine all up lol. Thanks again peeps 🙂

TrxPipUK 169 Posted April 10, 2020 Do these bolts have a specific torque rating? Can't find anything in the manual about it? It does say a locking agent should be applied to the bolts though. However, don't have any locktight or anything. Do I need to get some or will it be alright without it?
retro 4,048 Posted April 10, 2020 Just get them tight... you can put some silicone gasket maker on clean and dry bolt threads before putting those bolts in if ya got no thread locker. In all likelyhood they'll be OK without anything on them though.
toodeep 1,758 Posted April 10, 2020 In the general section of the manual you can find the general torque specs. 6mm (thread size) flange bolts with an 8mm head are 7 ft/lbs, so you have a general reference on how tight.
TrxPipUK 169 Posted April 21, 2020 Hi all. Just a quick question. When I shake the change clutch a few of the springs rattle. Is this bad or perfectly normal? The clutch discs all seem in good order with a thickness of around 2.52mm (service limit is 2.3mm). Thanks guys, hope everyone is well.
