Heads up shooters.  Another round of clearance on guns at some Walmarts.

Varies greatly by store.  If the price is less than retail, but more than what's shown above, then another drop should happen any day to roughly 50% off.

"Limited stock" means they show at least one in the inventory system.  "Out of stock" means zero on hand.

Not really anything I was interested in other than the 10/22 takedown, and none in stock around me.

Good luck!

I bought one of the ruger 10/22 takedowns a few years back...it's in a cool blue kryptek finish...stainless.

fun plinker and not ammo picky at all... it tends to go on every travel trailer road trip cause it's just nice n compact and I like the idea of that many rounds on hand..no, it's not a zombie war firearm, and yet, might could help deter some bad actors.

here's an old pic of the 22s out for some target fun.

I picked up a takedown 10/22 yesterday.  Had to drive about an hour to get one in stock, but as cheap as it was it was worth the drive.

Neat little gun.  With the padded case it will be handy to strap to the front rack when riding.

I was thinking the same thing about the pics , but I let him slide  cause I followed  his WallyWorld link

Something I been wanting to do with my 10R22 , I was lucky to have found a wooden 10R22 stock at the flea market a few years back , I have been wanting to sand that stock  down and stain it with some Ebony stain which is black , give it the black out look

I think I have a black plastic stock here if you want it.  Be a lot less work than sanding down a wood one!

And guilty as charged on the pics.  Here's a youtube video on one of them.  Neat little things.

That is a mighty nice offer of you Jeep , I wouldn't mind a synthetic stock , but I was thinking the black wood grain satin finish  would look really cool  and since I have the stock just sitting around , I gave the guy I think it was $10 for it , if I don't like the way it comes out , not much lost ------

I watched that take down 10R22 video , pretty cool , I use to have a Browning .22 take down like in this video  I am linking about the guy's Grandmother's gun , the one I had was given to me when I graduated high school by my Grandmother , I should have never let that gun get away from me , I had a whole set of Brownings that I sold because of the ex-wife --- I had Browning scope mounts on that take down and thescope wouldn't get disturbed when it was broke down

I just messaged a guy who is selling a Remington 597 in .22WMR. Just waiting for him to message me back. I have. Magnum Research.22WMR now which I love. My 597 in .22LR is a awesome, so I would expect the .22mag to be the same!

This one has some wicked sentimental valve to it , LOL , it was the one that my ex-wife  stuck in my face ,  loaded with one in the chamber  and tried to pull the trigger about 6 times , but the safety was on , this one is my friend , LOL

Since today is my birthday , might have to unload  this one , wish I had a picture of my ex for a target , but I have since burned every pic of her , LOL

I think about how much better my life might  have been if I wouldn't have married my ex , but then think that all the trials and tribulations may have made me a better person , this gun is a reminder to that

Good times in the south!

Pretty sure if it was me after that she would regret it  big time.

Soooo, never been a big fan of Savage, BUT, currently the Axis rifles (original Axis with crappy triggers, not the Axis II) are $124 for synthetic with no scope, and $184 for wood with a scope.

Savage started a $50 rebate today on all Axis rifles, so that drops the price down to $74 for the syn without scope, and $134 for the wood stock with a scope.

Doesn't get much cheaper than that.

Ended up picking up a Savage Axis Sporter .223 and a Leupold Freedon .223 MIL TMR Reticle scope for it. I wanted a 50mm scope for it but the one I picked out was out of stock. He found this one and decided to go with it. Hope it will be here this weekend or next week.  Took about a month from Ruger to get another mag for my LCPII. Heck I could of driven there and back in a day. They are a North Carolina based business. Never knew that until I bought my LCP. On the lookout for a revolver now.  I had looked and the Remington 783 but the reviews I read were less than par.

I shot my 12 gauge home defense with some 2 3/4 duck steel shot , then with 3 inch mag 000 buck , need to hold on with two hands with the buckshot , I let my buddy shot it and he did a one hand shot like a pistol with buckshot and said he hurt his wrist pretty good , I chickened out trying it one handed after watching him on  video shooting it in slow motion and it is a flame thrower with the buckshot , even with a 18.5 inch barrel at 25 ft it holds a tight pattern with the 3 inch buckshot 000 10 pellets  , a lot tighter pattern than I would have thought , and I find it shots a little higher than I would have thought shooting from the hip

These have just started dropping for the final markdown around here.

Those Henrys are $169.

The Savage Axis are $49, and the Savage Axis wood with scopes are $74.  Those have a $50 rebate on them right now too (max of 5) so the synthetic guns without scopes are FREE after rebate.

Those Remington 770's are $54, the 700 is $79

10/22 Takedown is $79, and the wood stock if $59.

Not much left in stock at this point in the game, but if you have any local showing using those links (again, limited stock means their store inventory system says they have at least one on hand) I'd make a run.

There is a chance they could be on hold for someone whose background check didn't clear, but if they told you they "sold them last week" they're lying, which is what's happening to @basfnb right now at his store.

Guns are inventoried by serial number at Walmart.  If they sell the gun, those BS links will drop to zero within an hour.  If it shows as being there, it's either there and the employee is hiding it, or it's on hold for someone waiting on a background check.  Those are the only two options on guns.

My strategy if that BS happens is to find a manager elsewhere in the store, have them scan the barcode for the particular gun, and then when they say "We show one in stock" then you say "Well the guy in Sporting Goods couldn't find it, would you look for me?"

yeah if you use those brickseek links, put in your zip, it will show you what area stores have in stock.

Limited stock means they have at least one showing in the system

My local store dropped this morning.  Got a Henry 38/357 that will go to the father in law for Christmas, $169, and a Savage 243 for my kids to deer hunt with, should they ever want to.  It was the wood stock Savage with a scope, so was $74.  After the rebate, $25 gun.

They had about another 1/2 dozen guns still in stock that were on clearance, but they were on background check hold for people.   If your background check doesn't instantly clear, they hold the gun for you until the ATF clears you, up to 30 days.  If you don't clear in 30 days, it goes back on the rack.

So if you see something you want, and it shows "limited stock", go ask.  If they say it's sold, ask specifically if it's on background check hold, or if it sold.  If they say it's sold, and it shows up in brickseek, they're lying, and then you mosey around to Karen a manager.

Prov , that is a bad boy you got there , won't want to be on the receiving end of it -----  I shot my buddy's .44 mag , the Josey Wales gun , he told me to two hand it and he wasn't lying , kicks like a mule , he told me a bunch of people get hit in the forehead when firing that gun for the first time with one hand ---- and on a funny note ,  two shots from it killed a small tree that the target was nailed to and it actually fell over

This baby is dialed in for deer. Put another 50 full house loads through it yesterday. Most comfortable 44 Mag I've ever shot. Groups consistently like this at 100yds. 3 shot group. Second picture is 50yds.

Prov , ironic you brought up .44 Mag , my buddy is selling a big chunk of his gun collection , was talking with him this evening about what he has left and a couple caught my ear , he has both variations of the Ruger .44 mag carbine , the tube loader and the magazine style , thinking hard about getting the tube loader one from him , so my 10r22 can have a big brother

Those Ruger 44 carbines are neat little guns.  Getting pricey and you don't see them often.

Does anyone have any experience with the newer browning BARs. Looking in 30-06 or .270 caliber for deer hunting in ranges consisting of less than 250 yards. Using for only whitetail deer. Heard a few reports they aren't as accurate as a bolt action but I do not like the x-bolt. Too clunky of an action.

Would also be interested in hearing reports on a Winchester model 70 bolt and tikka bolt action. The thing i don't care about the tikka is I want a wood finish. I have plenty of synthetic stock guns.

Sled.

Get you a Pre64 model 70.  No finer bolt gun out there.  270 won't be easy to find, but 30.06's are everywhere..

Just have to watch the deals and get them just right.  LOL.  I'm Scottish and we're a frugal (CHEAP!) people.

I've gotten some stuff from Walmart closeouts that had a rebate that was more than what I bought.  Bushnell binoculars, ammo, etc.

First time I got clued in on things I got a Marlin 1895 that was marked down from $750 to $299, and had a $50 rebate on it.

A year later I drove an hour to get a big pile of ammo for it at $7/box.

The only problem is, I end up sounding like my wife with the "See how much I SAVED by spending all this money!"
