2008 honda rincon 680 hard to shift

2008 honda rincon 680 hard toshift in reverse and drive also when put in gear it will pull off without giving gas ,, appears to be at the proper idle speed. any simple cures for such a thing

Sounds like your idle speed is too high.

 

The EFI machines use a IACV (Idle Air Control Valve)

 

It’s on top of your throttle body, held in place by tamper proof screws.  Remove them with vice grips (assuming you don’t have the tamper proof tool) and pull the IACV up.  When you turn the key on it should spin up and down.  They get gooped up and hung up. Clean it well with CRC electrical cleaner or similar, and make sure it spins up and down when you turn the key to the one position
