BIGDAWG7110 0 Posted March 21, 2023 Does anybody know the difference between the dash cover between a 2001 450es and a 450s. The part numbers are different but the parts diagram looks exact and any pictures I can find they look the same. It's just a cover over the electronics. Are they really different? The price difference is substantial. I am having my dash fixed and the cover is cracked but a new cover specific to that year is $160 or more. Crazy. The differences are soooo minor on all these display covers, its pretty annoying. I made one from a 2001 ES fit my 1999 ES with just a few changes to my base plate. Id say just order the one for your model and not risk it. I guarantee there will be some small difference in them, unless you want to try to make it work. I spent like $190(I agree with you on price, crazy) on mine but it is really nice having it all look like new again after I had AKATV fix the LCD screen as well. AKATV 820 Posted March 21, 2023 (edited) Yep they are different for sure, most annoying thing is looking at them from the topside, they all look the same (3 LEDs etc) What you are going to find is this- -98-2000 Foreman 450ES cover has 3 LEDs, 8 screws on rear and is marked "AES" on the inside, fits old style backlight panel circuit board only Generally the most expensive- 250.00 +and sometimes quite hard to find Honda 1998-2001 TRX Case Upper 37201-HN0-A11 New OEM | eBay -2001 Foreman 450ES & 2000-2006 Rancher 350FE 8 screws (not same spacing as above grrr) Marked "ABS" on inside and is deigned for the newer LED style circuit board. Both of these covers are USUALLY around 200 dollars, which I think USED to be 48..00 or so dollars many years ago.. Meter Case Dash TRX350 FE Rancher, TRX450 ES Foreman Speedometer (See Desc)T186 | eBay Hold onto your hats... 2000-2006 Rancher FM (optional accessory) does not fit ES model, 2000-2006 Rancher 350 TM/TE, 1998-2001 Foreman 450S (foot shift) and 01-04 Rubicon 500 has 4 corner screws is marked ABS on inside and has raised tubes around LED lenses on the inside that will crack LCD glass if you try to force it onto wrong model (ask me how I know) Honda OEM Upper Speedometer Cover TRX350 Rancher Foreman Rubicon 37201-HN0-A01 | eBay 2002-04 Foreman 450S (foot shift) 2004-07 Rancher 400AT Has 4 LEDS (added one LED for 4wd) 4 corner screws and raised LED tubes on the inside and marked ABS on the inside (This is the one that is only 40 dollars or so new and ticks people off (me too) about all the other $200.00 ones) You would THINK they would be priced about the same across the board..... BIGDAWG7110 0 Posted March 21, 2023 Great info. I will just bite the bullet. I guess after 22 years I should spend a little bit on it. LOL I just sent my display board to AKATV for the repair. I put on new brakes. (front are disc) New seat, cables, and anything that looked suspect. Thanks again for the very informative responses.
