1999 Honda foreman S450 display issues

I have a 1999 foreman S450. The display is partially blacked out. The odometer and trip mileage flashes and has inconsistent lettering. Can it be repaired

Thank you for your response. What would it approximately cost to repairIs there a different model display that is available that will fit

98-01 450S meters will work.  Meters are model specific, so that's what you'd have to look for.

 

This one is in KPH instead of MPH.  As you can see, since they are discontinued the remaining stock are quite pricey.

 

@AKATV, are you able to reflash a KPH meter to read MPH?

I did get it on mph but the display is intermittent on complete lettering. Can you fix that

Boy I am late to the party here- must have missed the first posting-sorry

The black spot cannot be repaired it is internal damge common to the 450S

 If its flashing, you might want to open case and make sure no water is inside

Sometimes the flashing and erratic display is caused by a bad LCD, most times I find moisture or bad

contact under the LCD contact strip, you might be able to remove and clean it with isopropyl alchohol

and see if it improves
