airwolf9090 0 Posted August 20 How does and under what situations should it work? Seeing as I guess it's full time because lack of button for it should it be locked front/rear or is there a viscous clutch like an AWD system? I ask because I've had it afew months and haven't really had a need for it til today to move a dead 2018 ram promaster around the yard all I got was rear tire spin and nothing out the front. Ended up having to get my jeep because without the front pulling I didn't have enough ! to move it lol.
jeepwm69 7,721 Posted August 20 This is an 01-04 Rubicon correct? If so, and not equipped with an aftermarket front driveshaft disconnect, my guess would be stripped splines on the front driveshaft. If you unbolt the front diff (one bolt on bottom rear, accessible from right front wheel well, one bolt on top, one bolt on front) and simply pull it forward, the front diff will slide up enough to allow removal of the front driveshaft. Inspect splines.
