Yup! I was thinking about sending you a couple FCUs anyway, because I will need beta testers to help me refine those gizmos. I can't tell ya when you might expect them though... turns out that in reality I am not retired after all. So hang onto your good parts until ya get what you need from our gizmos projects.

EDIT: Hang onto your old wiring harness, I am going to be looking for a donor OEM FCU plastic connector plug because I want to create a copy and print them.

Well the good news is, the ECU on this 07 seems to be fine.  Looks like the fan temp wire must have pulled off the sensor, and rather than look into that, the previous owner just hacked the fan wiring and put in a toggle switch.

All of that is put back to stock now.

Got the rear brake done yesterday (new shoes and cables).  Had to cut the foot brake off of the stud and put a new one on.  That thing was seized solid.  Went ahead and added a grease zerk to the new foot brake lever when I put it on for the next owner.

I HATE working on the rear brakes on these things.  Seems to always be frozen up and a PITA to get working again, especially given that they never stay working for long once you do all that work.

Got a new master cylinder put on (PSN) and bled the front brakes.  Changed fluids in front and rear diffs.  Was worn out after that, so called it a day.

About all I have left to do with this one is put fenders and racks on, and list it for sale.  Hopefully will get that done this week.

Going to put the rear fender on (mainly to hold the battery) so I can putt around on it a bit and make sure everything is as it should be before I put all the plastics on.

Well. it took me a while but i finally put the rebuild carb on the 2000es. i forgot where i stored the parts. i only hope it runs. then i can work out the other problems. i spent an hour, trying to get the breather box to match,PITA, the carb. i forgot how, i did this the 1st time. luck, if i remember what, or when, i ate last. i'm still due for today.. course, its tomorrow. so, i skipped a day. an people want to know how to lose weight, just dont get hungry.

got tomorrow lined out. bacon, maybe fries, egg's. havnt planned supper yet. im working on frying things. so far, i havnt found anything decent to fry in. i dont like soy based stuff. must be the only one. Crisco in a can is made from soy beans. so is Crisco cooking oil. dont ya know, soy beans, make a vegetable oil?  the next thing is, i might learn to like tofu. dont know what that is, dont want to.. sounds like a Hollowood treat.. the casting director.. hey Harvey..

Don't want to travel in that world.. an i wont..

course being an old fart, i aint got nothing to worry about.

Had a few roads cut and drove them to see how it looks. Of course the battery was dead.  Time to get another battery.

Pulled the ATV on the trailer with the Jeep to Mr Pleasant Utah and rode the atv up the trail to Skyline Drive.  Drive/trail/dirt road.  It's a scenic drive, but rather rugged meant for 4 wheel high clearance only.  I could only go a mile or two south, due to huge snow drifts.

I was able to go north all the way to Highway 31.  Along the way ... a snow mobile, just sitting in the gravel road, near to the side, but in the road.  No one around.  No snow around, well patches here and there, on peaks and north sides, but not near the machine.

Scenic.  Beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky.  97 in the valley but up there, 10,000 feet, cold, I had a jacket on and buttoned up my shirt collar.  A cool breeze.

nuttin special, but any day that includes Hondas is a good day...wife's family reunion - we decided to host it at our place this year.  Pool, pond fishing, etc.

with only 2 4wheelers, I knew they'd stay in use, but I'd want to go out back on the trails and supervise a bit, so for the first time since last October, I pulled out my 79 CT90. Was very surprised that the battery still had enough charge to light the headlamp and provide the needed juice to allow me to kick it over...the tank/carb had been drained, so it did take a dozen kicks to get it going, but she purred to life and I went for a spin saturday morning before parking it among the Fourtrax.

I have names for the other hondas, but as this was my first machine, it's always just been called "the honda"...but I think I'll rename it to "Therapy"  cause as underpowered and undersized as it is, the thing just makes you smile when you twist the throttle.

anyway..3 generations of riders out on the trails this past Saturday..all having great fun on machines aged anywhere from 10yrs to 40 yrs old.

Got the 07 500 rolling, and a little closer to being ready to sell.

Took the wife's 420, the wife's Rubicon, my 06 500, and the kid's 350 Rancher out on the farm with the neighbors Saturday.  Hot and muggy.  The 420 died and acts like it's starviing for fuel.  Had to tow it back to the house and get my 09 500 out as well.

The good thing about this is, when the wife says "Why do you have to have so many?" I can say "This is why!"

Will put details on the 420 and the flip bike in their own threads.

I hope your opportunity ends in your favor LedFTed. Start a thread when you get ready to fix your 450 so we can have some fun with it.

Fitted a front skid plate -  which I had been waiting on since early April.  Took less than 10mins to bolt it to the frame. I could have manufactured a nicer, more sturdy one in a week.

In the homestretch on the 07 Foreman I've been rebuilding a bit at a time.  Put the front rack on.  One side of the bumper is bent back so I'm going to have to get that bent back out before I get that corner of the rack bolted to the front bumper.

Drove it when we went out blowing up beaver dams saturday.  Fan didn't come on, even though it was an extremely hot day, so that's a concern.  Going to start a separate thread on testing oil temp sensors, since a new one is almost $50. I did confirm that the fan kicks on when the sensor wire is grounded, so either the sensor is bad, or the machine didn't get hot enough to kick it on.

Had an oil leak that I originally thought was the oil filter cover, but ended up being the bottom oil cooler line.  The oring on the fitting was snicked, so put a new oring on that.

Recovered the seat with one of the covers I got from the "kentskovers" guy on ebay, who makes really nice seat covers.  Used a pneumatic stapler and it was an easy job.  Hardest part is getting the old staples out of the seat.

Once I make sure the oil temp sensor is working (or replace it), bend the front bumper back out a bit, and replace the front brake lever (it's bent, and I have a few junk MC/levers around), I'll continue test riding it for a couple of weeks and if everything checks out it will get listed for sale.

put the fourtrax in neutral, pushed it out of the garage so I could get to the boat cushions , life jackets, and dock bumpers.

Finally!  it's end of June and I'm just now dropping the boat on the lake.

I swear, there's been something every week here.  Large family, so birthdays, holidays, family reunion, chores.

anyway...had a really nice cruise on Sunday evening...and we always try to be on the lake for fireworks on the 4th, so that's probably the next time it'll see water.

I did take the lil Trail 90 for a quick spin before I realized that the front tire was going flat...put some air to it, but it's leaking just as fast...so time for a tube patch, but likely it's failed at the stem, they seem to do that...and more tubes on the way..so work before play again.

Nice looking hole in which to throw money.

Wife wants one, but I already have so many holes (Jeeps) that my money is tossed into that I don't know if I can swing another.

yep..that's what they are...but we really do feel like we've gotten a lot of our money's worth out of it...it's a 1999 model, bought it new in Feb of 2000.

it made multiple trips down to key largo area for scuba on the reef, central florida and my second home on the coast of carolina.

but most of it's use has been on the lake..ramp just 7 miles from the house. 4 kids growing up, with all their friends, meant lots of tubing time.

2years back it got a much needed upholstry job and had a new build from block up, of a 350 that replaced the 305 that was in there, and a lot of pain rewiring and cabling...years definitely deteriorated most everything.

I'm too old to take it to the keys again...we just charter for scuba now, so I've got folks to help me with tanks and be sure they are there when I surface. But it was a lot of great adventures over the past 20 years.

The 350 really roars.. I can't say it needed that extra hp, but it is fun.

now I'm enjoying grand kids, so it feels even more special to have the next generation creating memories on it.

I can't imagine the debt to take out a loan on similar size boat at today's prices...ouch!

so while my ol gal has plenty of dings and scratches, she's mine and I hope the upfit will last til I'm too old to be the captain.

Try some JB Weld Steel stick on the backside of the crack. I had sliced open one of my best poly gas cans with sheet metal and this stuff fixed it. Very tough stuff, cures fast.

this has me curious, when did it crack, or when did you notice it ? I'm thinking some of that extra cold weather y'all had up yonder over the winter caused the plastic to get super brittle, and crack. and which light gave up the ghost ? if was the same light where the crack happened it might have been the pop, of the plastic that killed the pod light.

@_Wilson_™ yes it was the right light in pic where it broke bad. The cold had nothing to do with it if u ask me. (Quad stays in heated garage all year.. It was the stress of the new pod lights….

Best way to spread the load of the pod mounting points that I've seen was to cut an old license plate into strips, and then use a strip down either side of the pod (so a strip would hold two of the mounting bolts, and act as a backer).

Got this 07 done and more or less ready to flip.  Think I have a slow leak in the left rear tire so going to look at that after work today, but getting it listed in the next day or so.  I really like the SC1 for shining one up.

None too soon either.  Painters are almost finished with our house, and right on cue, our AC compressor locked up.

We have a 3 phase unit now.  New compressor would be 3 weeks, new unit would be January at the earliest, so we're putting in a single phase unit.

Not sure yet.  Normally I'd probably be at around $3K on one like this, but with the market being what it is (and the fact that I have to replace my central AC unit) I'm thinking I'll list it at $3750.
