ted, try posting that pic again.... it didnt work this time.

dont matter, that was the one i ordered, last. got to show it when i take it off, an ya can see the damage.  IMO the cable going to the starter was to small, an the voltage going to the solenoid, might have played a part. not enough. i will have to take the solenoid off. just havnt done it as yet. then, i will post pictures, if the storms aint to bad, it wont be to long. i have seen the damage, from previous solenoids, an it is always the same. thats why i wanted to take the atv solenoid, apart. lasted 20 years, just might be a better built solenoid....

try looking here..... https://www.partstree.com/brands/exmark/zero-turn-mowers-quest/ might be a part number on the soleniod as well, mine has a sticker.... but both snappers use the same type solenoid.

i have seen the damage from other solenoids, never seen this before. i had some help putting it on. an did i.......

i never seen a pole turned 180 degrees before. the contacts couldnt make, because the poles burrowed upwards.

the solenoid wasnt factory. should still be working, but it cant..

next time i will put it on. 🙂

Was wondering how this happened , and after revisting this pic , I come to the conclusion he drove off that structure over their heads , as there are no track marks on the ground , bet the operator  had a scare

What most likely happened is the threads got arched or seized up from over heating

thats what happened, he didn't hold the bottom nut while tightening the top nut. you can see in this pic he did the other side like that as well by the pushed out side.
