Model definations

Recommended Posts

When I look up parts for my 500, I always see a 2 letter defination after it. What does these mean? I have never really understood them. The vin sticker on my frame is pretty much gone but the honda sticker on the right rear frame is partially still there.

I see  you call your a 500 S ,  I think it is actually a 500FM

FM = 4WD manual shift

FA = 4WD auto

FGA = 4WD auto GPS

To add to what Fish said

FE is electric shift (ES) 4wd

TE is electric shift 2wd

TM is footshift 2wd

FPM is footshift power steering 4wd

FPE is ES power steering 4wd

FPA is auto power steering 4wd

The 2A after some models denotes camo plastics.

Yeah the 450 footshifts were listed as "S" and the first year or two of the 500 had "Foreman S" stickers on them, but in the schematics they're FM's
