just came in from my shop, rolled the ole girl in, removed the front fender, pulled the c.d.i. , heated it with my heat gun, got on, kicked her over with spark plug laying on top of engine, seen spark !, hmmm, put spark plug in, gave her a short burst of starting fluid, she took a bit, noticed i had to take the decompression cable off the exhaust valve, after a few kicks over, IT FIRED UP AND RAN FOR A SEC OR TWO !!. soo..tells me the c.d.i.  was indeed bad !. i could see the swell on the rubber on the c.d.i. already before i heated it with my heat gun, this told me the circuit board on the c.d.i. was headed to the grave. but it did run !. i sure hope ya'll ain't in no hurry to see this look new ?, this will be a complete tear down to frame. i think i scored pretty good on this buy 🙂

Great find! It is missing a few common but expensive pieces. That plastic oughta clean up real nice.

oohi see an oil leak let’s hope it’s just a missing valve adjustment cover.

haha..either the rocker shaft o ring is bad ?, or valve adjustment cap o-ring is bad ?, or..leaking rocker box ?, dont know yet, have not got that far yet..lol. i did however !!!!, round up a pump bracket, pump rubber holder, trunk, solenoid/fuse holder, dash, and..wait for it...A LEFT SIDE COVER !!!!!, all from my honey hole ( my buds place )..hehe..saved me a ton of money today.

just placed an order for a few parts, ordered starter valve ( choke enrichment set ), handle bar end caps, air filter, rear carrier swing arm bushings and rubber tie downs, front steering knuckle parts, steering shaft bushing. still need to order a shindy carb rebuild kit, and i'm sure a few other parts will be needed as i tear it down more.

LOL.  I have one of those wired onto my sprayer on my old JD lawn tractor.

What was even better was the light switch wired into the ignition of my neighbor's 350 Rancher when he bought it.  Like a wall light switch.  LOL

I would have thought it was stolen except the guy had a title for it.

update: was tearing rear diff down yesterday/lastnight, left rear axle hub bearings and oil seal were shot, hub is great, axle is great, ring and pinion gear is great, brake side is great as well !. been doing painting and more cleaning today, got the first coat of gloss black on the frame. made a trip to wally world ( was not looking forward to that trip ! ) , stocked up on 10 cans of black gloss, 4 cans of easy off oven cleaner, i took some before and after pics of the rear brake parts, cleaned them, then used my bench grinder with the wire wheel to polish those parts up, ya'll decide for yourself if you think the easy off works ?, it works for me !. i got a few parts on order, those will be awhile before they show up, no rush at least, taking my time, tearing down, inspecting, picking through the dirty parts, and cleaning them as i go. enjoy the atv porn !.
