87 TRX350D Reproduction Decals

Recommended Posts

Hey guys.  I keep forgetting to mention that I've found a source for some pretty decent aftermarket decals for the red or blue 87 350D's.  He may have other years too.  They're not perfect, the front fender decal leaves out the orange color the OEM had, but I'm pretty happy with them overall. Didn't need to use them all, like the side covers, on my red bike.  I'll be putting on the ones I got for a blue 87 tomorrow, and will use them all.  I take some more pictures of it when I'm done. He gets $60 for them ($62 shipped). Let me know if you're interested in I'll put you in contact with him.

I'm into OEM too Shade, believe me. I had to brake down and get some Maier side panels for the blue 87 I'm finishing up.  Not happy about it, adn I'll still continue to try and get OEM ones when I can, but sometimes I'll accept whats's available for these old rigs.  OEM decals just aren't out there anymore, and I like my bikes to at least look as original as possible.

How do the Maier side panels work with the original fenders?

They work in a similar way as OEM, except instead of the part that sticks through the grommet, they use a stand off with bolt. I haven't bolted them on yet....they look stupid with faded fenders

Those don't look that bad.  You could polish up those fenders and they would look great.  Throw those decals on and your set!!!  Where did you order them from?

I got them from SVS Powersports. If you're thinking of getting them in blue...don't.  I'll sell you these that I have for much cheaper.

https://www.svspowersports.com/products/maier-dark-blue-side-panels-for-1986-1989-honda-trx350-117786?variant=18279864074291&currency=USD&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=google+shopping&utm_campaign=gs-2018-12-22&utm_source=google&utm_medium=smart_campaign

I may leave them out in the sun for a few months and then slap some decals on them if I can't obtain OEM ones at a reasonable price or on a parts bike someday. I got a red kickstart cover on a bike I paid $250 for recently. A bike that I got running within 15 minutes of unloading it off the trailer.

Got the decals on and the Maier side covers installed correctly. They don't actually bolt on, like I thought. They use a "jack nut" and push in the stock mounting grommet just like the OEM. I'm coming around to the idea of keeping them. That, and there's really no OEM ones out there for sale right now.
