hi all big thank you to shade tree for pointing me in the right direction, i am building a trx300 1997 2wd down in Melbourne australia will post some photos up with some updates so far on the bike, purchased with frame and old rusted tires no plastics so it has been a long build as it is hard to find parts for the right price and not aiming to go over board just want to bring it back to life

 

-uni filter

-new original size wheels front with 23x8-11 fronts 

-new trx500 25x10-12 rears 

-purchase plastics

- clean frame up

- reseat valves 

- clean exhaust up

- one way bearing

 

things to do

custom front bar

led light bar

led driving lights

front and rear racks mounting

top end rebuild (blowing blue smoke)

clutch

restore plastics

restore tank

Foreman wheels look good on it; what brand tires are they? Like the tread

pattern.

 

you looking to stop the rust or bring to new?

 

You can use rustoleum rust restore spray paint in a very small brush—spray a little on a piece of cardboard and dab it on the rust spots. then use touch up paint.

 

if you wanted to repaint, then you’ll want color code and hunt for OEM or reproduction marks. Search Partzilla or Rocky Mountain for part numbers. If they don’t have maybe set up a search on fleabay

Welcome aboard!  I think all the overseas 300's had speedometers on them.  I know @SamUK said all the ones in GB do.

yeah... i believe there standard in Australia ...  @Turbo Twister has this setup on his rig... although the hour meter ... has been update to digital ... still looks great IMO .
