  1. I've never had to, even on my old wiring harness I didn't have to, but eventually I found out why that didnt button start since the wires to the solenoid weren't actually connected. But when the parts I ordered come in I'll go ahead and have a look at the wiring harness and stuff, especially since I'm gonna put a light on it.

I've bought maybe 2 or 3 db electrical solenoids and the connector is like a switch, so I cut it off and put connectors from a different solenoid, but I'm gonna just buy one off ebay to see if it is just the solenoid, but I don't even hear the solenoid click which I thought they just click if they're bad, but it just doesn't do anything.


  3. So I just got my quad running, and I've been having to jump the solenoid, replaced it like 3 times, I'm gonna try buying another one, since these ones are old but brand new. Along with this when I turn the ignition the neutral light doesn't come on, even though the neutral wire is connected, this was a wiring harness from a different trx400ex.

Yeah, I made sure the T was lined up, the cam lobes facing down, and made sure it was dead on since the manual chain tensioner moves the timing marks a little, and it has a stage 2 hotcam and when I opened it, I think it was an aftermarket cam already since the decompression pin and spring were already gone, but the cam I have is a bit different as it has a decompression mechanism, but I'll definitely try the starter fluid sometime thursday or near the end of the week.


  5. It'll pop every few revolution, I just put everything on it since the left crankcase was leaking oil, but I rechecked the compression, it has about 100-110. It has good strong spark, OEM carb with a new needle and slide, I don't know what jets are in it, but I feel like that might be an issue, but it would pop more frequently when I put the choke on.

Couple years ago I bought a big bore kit, got close to it running, and stopped, recently been trying to get it running, bought a new big bore kit, a niche 440, I know they're not reliable but I just want it for now so when this one blows up I'll have enough for a higher quality piston and jug. Back to the problem, I just finished putting it all back together, has 90 psi, good spark, and the only problem I think it is the air fuel ratio or something with the carb, also it popped before the battery died, any suggestions?
