I understand its sarcasm, but the premise is that cannabis is comparable to other drugs that "dull the senses". which is absolutely a foolish statement either way.if you truly believe legalizing cannabis is the same as legalizing heroin or cocaine, what can really be said about that? I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but either you are trolling or you are truly, completely uninformed. Maybe it's my situation as well, in canada it is 100% legal both medically and recreationally. There is lots of information out there if you wish to learn instead of just throwing out misguided opinions .if this is deleted, just know I'm not here to ! on anyone. But these old fashioned, uninformed attitudes are hopefully going to go away soon. 

Ridiculous you have to have a medical card, even more ridiculous you have to explain to someone why you're smoking. I'm very surprised at the, um, old-fashioned points of view around here. 

Which parts did you design on the Cummins B series? I dont design engines for a living but I work for a Cummins dealer, had many B series engines apart.

Talked to a friend that has worked on the piston/rings almost his entire career here and he was brainstorming things that may make the piston stick with rings on it but not with the rings off. He said it was obviously a ring thing if it is truly an issue. He said it is a long shot, but the ONLY thing he can think of that I haven't checked is ring groove depth in the piston. If they cut it too shallow, that could be causing issue with piston in the bore(although he admittedly said that its a very long shot and if it was truly an issue it should bind ALL the time). So I am going to pull the jug one last time before I finish putting it together. He said if that checks out, he liked the starter idea. If starter doesn't really seem to notice its probably a lubrication thing like I think.

 

 

 

 

I bought mine new in 2010, been inside every night since, and there is more rust on my chassis than on this one. But honestly, that 300 has NEVER seen more than 1 or 2 inches of water or mud. 

My bike has been inside for over 10 years. I think he does it to ! me off I'm not sure. Lol 

Never. That bike has been sitting out in the sun/rain/snow for 20 years. It defies logic. Lol. 

I'll have a look at the tag but I'm pretty sure it's a 2000. I thought it was a 2002 so the first 3 numbers check out. Lol.i gave him an atv cover a few years ago, so he could get it out of the rain. I never saw that cover again. 

It very well could be a 2000, there was a tag with the date on it but I didnt pay attention. I keep telling him if he leaves it to me I'm going to part it out lol. 

Just wanted to show my father's 300FW. Bought brand new in 2002ish. Has spent its entire life outside, and has never left the property. Every mechanical part is original, other than a starter and maybe a battery or 2. With a good wash and paint touch up it would be in showroom condition. Still has the original back tires!

My friend bought a Polaris Sportsman. Dumbest thing I ever saw anyone do.  

I had the bike for a few years after the repair, and it didnt leak again. Just be careful when installing, I'm not a fan of torque wrenches on an oil plug, just tighten it until its snug. 

This is about as big as a tree gets around here. Rifle is for reference I guess. Lol. 

I had an old 300 with the plug stripped out. I tapped up to next size (believe it was 12mm up to 14mm) and got a new oil plug to match. Both tap and plug off ebay cost less than $5 at the time. 

Just out for a rip, are ya bud? Met an older gentleman out on the trails with a 2006 Raptor 700 with 47,000km on it. Said engine was never touched. Very impressive!

Lol good point jeep. I have a hard enough time sticking paint to metal let alone rubber. 

But semi autos are pinned, right? My SKS magazines all have(had🤷‍♂️) rivets installed when I bought them.

Here in Canada, eh, the gun laws are wonky. No centerfire can hold more than 5 rounds. High capacity magazines are pinned with a rivet at 5. But yet, I can walk in and buy one of these off the shelf. Makes no sense! Is 18" barrel the shortest you are allowed across the whole USA?

I would buy a cheap barrel, sent it to this guy, and have him cut it down and reset the bead on the front.  He does great work, fast turnaround, and is cheap.  He does not respond to emails.  He will occasionally answer the phone.  I followed some instructions I thought were iffy, which were "Just mail him your barrel with what you want done and he'll do it and email you an invoice when he's done, or you can put a blank check in there made out to him and he'll fill it in when he's done"  That sounded way weird, but he's put choke tubes in a couple of older shotguns for me, and cut down and reset a ramp and bead on one and everything went without a hitch.  He apparently likes doing the actual work but not so much the "dealing with the public" part of the job.  LOL

 

$20 plus shipping each way isn't much to pay to have the bead reset and have the work be done perfectly.

 

 

Fish excellent idea with the playing cards. That's definately what I will be doing.

It's the same width as the rack with the foot peg tubes attached. If clearance is an issue I can cut the ends off easily enough thanks for the input. I'm going for a rip this weekend if I get caught up in a tree I'll chop it up and make a couple picture frames or something out of it

Nice job on that wheeler. I think pipe probably would look a little bit better, but I've never made anything out of pipe I've always used tubing. One of these days I'll get some pipe and give it a try. I was picking up a steer shaft bearing ($2.87) from a machine shop. They told me they dont sell full length steel, only odds and ends. So I got 3 4ft pieces of 1x1 11ga and 2 5' of 1.5" flat bar for $25. So I figured even if it looked terrible it's not a big loss lol. I'm a bit ! I used flat black on the rear bumper(i had a quart laying around) but used gloss black spray bomb on the front bumper and rack. Now I'm not sure which shade to paint the wheels. 1st world problems I guess

Was +33 today with 90% humidity. I could literally skate across the shop floor today on my work boots. Lol
