  1. I was going through the clymer manual and I unplugged the big connector on the ECU and then I got everything back. Neutral, reverse lights and the gear position shows up and works as it should. I've tried 2 different ECU's and I have the same result. But when I started checking things with the multimeter the black/green wire only has .07 volts. I checked the wire from the fuse box to the kill switch and to the ECU. It shows continuity. Could it be the resistance in the wire, maybe partially broken somewhere?

Let me look.  I have a slew of 350 Foreman  carcasses and might have an extra shifter.  If the splined part is the same size as a 400/450 I'll send you one.

    Jeepwm69,

Would you happen to have a ECU for a 98-01 Honda Foreman 450es 4x4. It is the computer system that controls the ESP system. It has 2 plugs and the left plug has 5pins and the right has 16pins, also the top of the box it tapered. It is located under the CDI box and the Fan Control Unit on the front center of the frame. I'm trying anything I can do to keep from paying $200-$300+ for a new factory OEM part.

    Thanks,

    Shawn

  4. I'm looking for a New or used OEM ECU for a 98-01 Honda foreman 450es 4x4. This is the black box with a tapered top that controls the shifting for the bike. It located under the front fenders mounted on the front in the center of the frame beneath the CDI Box and the Fan Control Unit. I'm would prefer to not have to pay the retail price of $200-$300

    Thank you,

    Shawn

  7. You can check your shift motor by connecting it directly to the battery with jumpers. If it shifts then you know that it is good. Connect the orange wire to the positive side of the battery and the green wire to the negative side. I was dealing with my foreman 450es it was totally unresponsive.  I did all the troubleshooting tests and checked out every wire and connection on my foreman. I finally found out that the little black sensor that has a 3 prong plug on the end of it which is mounted on top of the shift control motor was bad. I changed that sensor and it works like a brand new one. Hope this helps you with your bike.

    Thanks,

    Shawn
