Yes closed gives me the power to the cdi. 

The 2 wires going to the kill switch are presentlyvtwisted together and taped. I now read 12 volts at the cdi plug.  Without those wires twisted together, i have no power to the cdi.??

Yes i eliminated the kill switch by shorting the wires together and not touching ground. 

I am reluctant to buy a 175 dollar part without knowing it is bad. The last test where i hooked a wire directly to the battery has nothing to do with the cdi  yet no spark. I am just not sure of anything right now.

Ok did that test. No spark at plug.

Did spark at battery terminal where i was touching. Noticed a drag when i touched with the fan.

Definitely a draw from something.

Oil coil reads 8.6 with cap on

Reads 4.3 with cap off.

New coil reads 2.07 with cap on and the same reading without the spark plug cap.

2.07 on 20k scale for the new coil i got on ebay.

8.6 for the old

2.07 for the new

Just the ign coil readongs are .7 and .5 (2 different coils)

Previous owner purchased it new. It just quit one day and he let it sit for over a year while he was using another quad that his father owned. I bought it thinking this should be an easy fix. 

So i believe the parts are all correct. I also think there is something very simple that we are missing. 

Ok I am hopeful we can get it solv ed.  I will wait for more help. I wish i could send pics. Is there a way to do that in the forum?

Should just take this to honda shop. I had no idea this would be so difficult. You have spent a lot of time helping me and i really appreciate it. But i am just so lost on what it might be?
