  1. Got everything on and running. Noticeable difference doesn't seem to be running lean. I'm going to be easy on it for a little while let it all break in then see what she really does. I do have a spare 02 delete I can put on maybe it does something with the setup idk but she's back up and going strong
  2. True. I thought something looked off but just went with it.
  3. I feel stupid I had the longer spline collars on the wrong spots. I got it on now. Will report back when the 500 top end is on and running
  4. I'm starting to think it's something with the transmission. I did put the gears all back on the shafts in what I believe was proper order according to the repair manual.
  5. took the arm off. i though it could be the fork rod but its fully down. i need to find my scope cam maybe ill be able to see whats catching
  6. just attempted to put back together for over 2 hours. still wont go down. i took all the bearings out of the case made sure they were in the right place and seated trans is seated crank and counter shaft are seated and pins are in place. still wont go down. last time i split the case i didnt have any issue putting it back together. i believe its something on trans side but as far as i see everything is seated properly
  7. Everything is seated and pins are in good shape. Might pull everything apart again and check again
  8. I'm not to confident I'd not mess it up. ! I can't get the cases back together even though I've torn this motor apart multiple times. It wins this week. Might try again next weekend.
  9. So somehow I can't get the crank cases together. I've done everything lined up and heated the one side. I've never had an issue with the cases before
  10. I'm not expecting anything crazy with the 500 top end this ones my do dumb stuff bike my 21 is my baby. Should have it back together sometime today case wanting to not cooperate today.
  11. Yeah my jug was messed up pretty bad and took the crank with it. I figured same cost might as well go with the bigger kit.
  12. Alright I'm gonna give it a try and see what she runs like. Hopefully alls well. I will send my scope down to check the piston just to see at some point
  13. Fair enough. I figured I'd put the bigger kit on there to see some possible gains and didn't think about it possibly running lean until now. I did some looking into ot some say it's the same but woth a different tuning others say it's different and will go lean.
  14. Hey guys about to do a 500 top end kit on a 2016 420. My question is will I need a fuel programmer or will it be fine without one and not run too lean? I've seen things online going both ways, it'll be fine without a programmer and it needs one or it'll run too lean. Any advice?
  15. Ite been a while had a whole bunch of stuff come up but I finally got around to getting it back together. It's shifting now all I gotta figure out is the idle. Thanks so much for the help and happy new years everyone.
  16. I believe I got it right this time. I lined it all up found reverse and went from there. Was able to go through all shift points by turning the drum and its set back to neutral position. I'll shoot you a pm real quick shadetree
  17. Got it broke down again and I'm not seeing where I went wrong. Maybe placement of shift drum?
  18. got it to run and sounded fine. unfortunately had to pull it out again cause the shift drum will not line up to the neutral marks on the case. bright side i can break these things down now real fast just gotta work on getting the trans right.
  19. Yup. I finally got around to working on it and now the fuel injector isn't working. If it's in between gears will it cause it not to work? Seems odd to me considering it ran before.
  20. Hopefully needs adjusting. The release bracket should be ok Ive never took it off and it worked before.
  21. I did triple check this time. Even took cover back off to see if the shift sensor is in the proper position. I gotta finish setting it all back up i did not run it.I do need to check the cable for the reverse cause it shifted into reverse without it. Battery was low so once it's charged up hopefully see what I did right or wrong.
  22. I tore it down yesterday found the center shift fork came off the drum. Gonna go put it all back together once it warms up here soon. The idle issue hopefully goes away too but I'll see soon enough. Thanks for the tips guys.
  23. I thought I had It lined up. I'm about to pull the engine back out now. Yeah no reverse second gear isn't neutral but it won't move at all all and neutral I believe is first
  24. Upon working on it today I learned I also can't shift into reverse and it did not like 2nd at all wouldn't move. I've cleaned iacv and shift sensor. Possibly internal? I was certain I had all the shift forks lined up on the drum.
