I think you're right. That washer goes on the front of the shifter shaft and touches the cover. It makes sense because it's the only washer that can just fall out when the cover is removed. The washer was probably stuck to the cover from the oil on it. I'll put it there and see if the cover touches home or if it bottoms our prematurely. Thanks!!! Pat

This is the first time the cover has ever been off but it's possible it's been in there forever. My son also said this washer fell out. I was fairly sure I knew where it goes but now I'm not so sure because I don't see it on the exploded view of all the parts. Does anyone recognize this and know where it goes? Pat
