That's a load! do y'all sell them ? By lbs or bushel ? My trees are black walnut trees, I'll try and grab a pic of just the few that fell, unless the sqirruls have already gathered them up.

I have no idea what he does with them. Probably just cleaning them up. He claimed that this was from 1 tree, but I think that he's elaborating a little. You know, "I elaborate to compensate for being taken with a grain of salt".

Goodness....... Still not slept sence Monday bout 3 am, anyways ..... I got to thinking, we did have a higher then normal hot summer, but the but ae didnt dry out to the point that the  trees became stressed enough to show signs (never lost there leaves) thats the only thing i can see might have effected them...(the overly hot summer)  ..anyone else  has an idea, I'm all eyes.

We've had a burning frost, but not a killing one yet, most likey it will happen this morning but.... I don't what happened to cause this , but i have several walnut trees around my home, but just a handful of  (walnuts) produced this season..... No clue why they didnt produce........ And Been so busy today, i haven't even looked at the radar....... But I'm hearing lightening static ( on the grundige short wave) from some storm.

We've got tons of walnuts this year, and more acorns than anyone can remember. My uncle raked up the acorns from the trees in his yard, and filled his truck bed till it overflowed.

No takers yet ? Think of like this, the owners would not have that issue if they had listen to us....... So just give your winnings back to this place, and no one is stopping the members from there to join here for help, but there was just a limited time the word was put out (about this plsce) there, and I'm sure a number of members there had the chance to join here at that time, and still do..... We are just not putting the word out any longer because this place is now very well established, the most important thing to remember is..... The members aren't getting help is true, but it's the owners fault not any of us here.

I post as much help as I am comfortable giving; I'm not going to answer posts when I'm out of my wheelhouse. I don't think that there are enough experienced members there to answer the span of questions being posted. For the few like Goober and Eric, they probably can't keep up with the questions. Often, the solution is to point them here.

Just worked on the same model splitter, last week. Belongs to a friend. He was into a real bad knot, and he heard a loud bang and it stopped moving. Turned out the lovejoy coupling had grenaded. The spider was completely worn out, and the fingers had worn until they fractured. I thought that maybe the pump had locked, but it was fine. Both shafts were lined up, so we put new couplings in, and it splitting again.

If your Talking permanent  reverse....,i couldn't say, but i saw some post that mentioned those two units having the reversed driven, but there is an optional gear box to correct that reverse drive pto.... So i gather those two are Permanent reverse drive tractors least thats what i get from reading the post that  i did, but what i was talking about was the >>option<< to reverse the pto.

They were designed with reverse rotation PTO's, and the intent was to make a line of implements that would work with them, but it didn't happen. There are gearboxes that can be installed on the PTO to reverse the reverse, but they are hard to come by and expensive.

    That's interesting @_Wilson_™!

you don't see a lot of old Kubota tractors here in the higher hp range, they tend to be relatively new. One thing I will say, anyone who has a machine with the kubota engine absolutely raves about them and how reliable they are. My 1 ton Hanix H09D digger has a 600cc Kubota engine, it's almost identical to the Kubota B6000's engine, it only gives about 12hp which is plenty for the size of both machines.

As far as I'm aware, Kubota had intended to expand their range of reverse PTO tractors in the 70's to differ from the standard PTO market of implements, but it was too tricky to reverse the mechanics of a lot of attachments aswell as costly, so it only ended up on the B6000 model as far as I'm aware (I could stand corrected on this).

The B6000 and the Satoh Beaver are the only two with reverse rotation PTO's.

We have that done alright, we even have 75kg wheel weights on each wheel for counter balancing the front loader, but it's only effective on level flat ground, as I found out the hard way lol!

We had to buy 2x new front tyres for it earlier in the year as the previous 2 were rotten, and I would imagine possibly the originals. It was hard to source a matching new pair and dad spent many calls and trips sourcing 2 similar sized threaded tyres for it. Our B6000 is a 1974 model with the reverse PTO, but you can get a gearbox to put it right and for using any implement there after.

PTO reversers are like hen's teeth here in the US- are they more readily available in your neck of the woods? I know that Kubota has a big footprint worldwide.

  9. Ok- I misunderstood. I assumed that ATVHonda had more members, but HondaATV dwarfs (70,000 to 1700). By observation, both forums have roughly the same amount of activity. But in ratio, ATVHonda is more alive.

Goober is very active there, along with some others, doing their best to answer requests for assistance.

I intend to be active on both forums.

Wow! No telling what that's worth...... You can try taking it back to the snap-on tool truck, there hand tools life time warranty ( or they used to be) i took a 3/8 drive that et up with rust, they swopped it out for a brand new one exactly like the one i turned in.

I don't know how the quality compares now, but a new set from Snap-On is $1200+.

I've had good luck at pawn shops.... Lucked out a complete set of S&K 1/4 drive socket set with the roto head, 1st roto head ever had, now i have 1/4,3/8,1/2 fine tooth, I'll use them more then any other ratchet...... Payed $50. I also have tools my grandfather gave me one of which is a old school craftman 1/2 in. drive has the metal reverse switch, not that plastic mess.

When I was a kid, my dad had purchased a Ford 3600 tractor from a friend. He also bought a 3/4 inch socket set from the same friend, for $20.00. That set stayed in the barn for years- 30+- and I eventually found the old red toolbox. I asked dad about it, and he said "Take it. I don't need it".

It's a complete 3/4" Snap-On socket set. It is no longer chromed and shiny, but it is solid and all there. We had never explored what was in that toolbox.

Even my beloved Miller welder. Assembled in Appleton, WI, using globally sourced parts.

    My ironworker is US made.

Thanks for posting up what you found.

That's how most of us ended on on a forum; looking for a solution to a problem and doing a search.

As a Jeeper, you know the way you have to look at that now is "well at least I know the carb, petcock, and valves are good to go for awhile!"

Very true; I can simplify it further- well, at least I now know how to clean and rebuild the fuel system. While I don't want to throw parts or waste energy, I do want to learn.

  14. I wondered why the general consensus on HA was to move here. I've seen it suggested a number of times.

I had been a member over there for a number of years, so that's where I returned to when needing advice. Goober was on the spot and very helpful and supportive.

So, I'm congregating both there and here. I find value in both.

An observation- both forums seem to have about the same amount of posts and activity.

I've got my 300 posted for this month's contest.

  15. One of its kind, 16V Detroit diesel (24.1 liter, 1.5 liters per cylinder), two turbos and two superchargers, 1100 hp and 3100 ft lbs torque. 100,000 pounds, carries 1000 gallons of fuel. 14 feet high, 13 feet wide (tractor alone, I assume), 27 ft long.

Latest job was pulling an 80 foot wide chisel plow.

    Does this count?
