Well we checked the valves, checked the tensioner, and everything led us to pulling the cases apart. Got into the cases and found both chains were stretched. We replaced the cam chain with a new one because I had thought ahead and ordered one but I wasn't expecting the other chain that I believe is the oil pump chain to be stretched. Luckily I had one from a parts motor we are rebuilding. Hopefully this fixes it. Waiting on the Honda bond to seal to try it.

I recently had rescued this 2004 rubicon from some people that definitely abused it. After tinkering on it a bit to get it running we've noticed this chatter at idle. We adjusted the valves to spec and it's still doing it. Couple of people I've spoke to have some differing opinions on what's going on with it. It rides well just don't want to push my luck with it until we figure it out. Anyone got some suggestions on what we need to look at? 20240210_162215.mp4

Yes someone on another forum had told me to get into contact with you. It stays at zero the whole time and the ATV stays in first gear no matter what mode you are in.

I've got a 2004 Rubicon and Honda just recently discontinued the speedometer for it. The speedometer for my rubicon does not allow it to shift and it stays in limp mode. Took the one off my buddies Rubicon and my rubicon works fine. Initially we had thought the speed sensor was bad because it kept throwing that code, replaced it with a brand new one and it was still throwing the codes for the speed sensor so we tested it with a multimeter and found its not supplying the power to the speed sensor. Anyone know what may need replaced to make this one work correctly because the meter doesn't exist on the market anywhere. If it's not fixable will the meter from one of the foremans around the same year work or one from a 2005 rubicon? I have been all over ebay as well its not out there.
