Yea shoot the dirt in front of it. (1st) ...Spray its face.

And then look over your shoulder for the rest of the day waiting to become prey.  If the cat approached me that tells me he isn't afraid of humans and sooner or later will kill someone that isn't armed.  Yep, my instinct would have been to protect myself and bury the carcass.

Well yesterday morning I was going to wash my 300.  I had forgot that after it flipped over upside down the day before  I had to kick start it as all it would do is click the solenoid.  I had tried jumping the solenoid in the woods and all it would do was spark. So after load testing the battery which was good. And kick starting it , the alternator tested good at 14.75 volts.  So I yanked an oem starter out a 300 engine I have. Swopped starters and it sounds better than it ever did.  Took that old starter apart to see what went wrong.  It was the brushes.

I've found these 300 starters will go through a plastic screwdriver handle phase.  Usually long enough for the brushes to arrive.

Wow  , 2 stroke , was it geared low and was peppy

More like low and slow.  Ugly thing with a fiberglass body.  The second one had a rope start Reo direct drive with no brakes.  Did have a kill switch.

First one looked like this one.

Nice job !!! <<<<  You say finished >>> no stain or paint ???

We had the space station orbit right over Lacombe , I believe it was this morning , I missed it

It was built from scratch.  Mostly stuff laying around.  Bought the adjustable feet, the 12" lazy Susan bearing and two cans of Rustoleum semi gloss clear.  I used some shellac as sanding sealer first.  The degree circle was tile printed on 8.5 x 11 and glued down on the base.

It's definitely an improvement over the base that came with it.

  5. Just changed the oil and filter in both TRX300FXs so they are good to go.  Next is Mom's Civic, then the Tundra and all the garden tractors and lawn mowers.  Too bad everything takes a different grade or I'd get a drum delivered.

Draining the ethanol free gas of of the generators to use in the old Kohlers and refill the gennys with fresh corn-free gas.

What is LSD lube ?  >>>>  ironic I was just reading about a clan that is into licking poisonous frogs in the  woods , naked  ,  for hallucinogenic purposes

Limited Slip Differential.  I figured you of all people would catch that.  It only takes 20oz since it's an independent rear axle.

  7. Annual maintenance on Momma's little red rag top plus a little more.  Oil & filter, tire rotation, brake fluid change, LSD lube, Turbo end play check, air filter and waiting on the Red Line MT 90 GL4 gear lube to get here so I can change the transmission lube.  I can't find GL4 anywhere locally.  All GL5 and that's not good for syncro rings.

After all this a wash and wax then go enjoy it

I think it is a maritime saying , Navy and / or fishermen , it usually has held true for me , red sky in the morning means rough seas , red sky at might means calm seas

Yep.  That saying goes for the trade winds.  Most of us live with the Westerlies.

  10. Oldest Boy called yesterday to say half the lights in the house were going on and off.  Suspected a bad leg and told him to turn off the central air and I'd be right up. (75 miles). Just before I left he called and said the power company came and the line drop was sparking and they'd be back at noon today.  Left here at 9:30 with tools and wanted to tighten all the lugs in the breaker box while the power co. had the power off.  Wasn't even out of the drive and he called to say they came early.   Called again about 30 minutes later and said he still had problems after they fixed the drop.

Got there and one leg open in the main and the wires from the meter connect directly to the main.  Called Power co. and asked if I could pull the meter and they said yes!  Shocked me so we found one electrical supply place in Akron that had one in stock so were were able to get the box fixed and have a two beer lunch.

The reason the lights were turning on and off was the power was back feeding through the AC compressor.  That's why I wanted the breaker opened.
