Are you going to add a screen ...... Cause i see a perfect setup for wasp, maybe even them pesky mudd dobbers .....that is if you let your bike set long enough... I bring up this because they have taken over where i put gas in... My car...I open that flap door to see an onslot ... Of flying pest headed right for me.... Or where i was at that time.........i up an vanished like a 💨in the wind.....

Roger that on the mud daubers.  We have the ones that build the elongated quonset huts and those that fill any hole available.  I had a wood block with 50 holes for 22LR ammo.  Left it MT up on the shelf in the garage.  Went to use it and all 50 holes filled with mud.  Recessed screw holes on my leaf blower?  Yup.  Sealed with mud.  They don't bother with my chainsaws.  Maybe I should clean them more often.

Was reading this morning about two super-moons this month , one is tonight ( on my birthday )  and the second of the month is a Blue Moon

The Moon was a nice orange color last evening due to probably the wildfire smoke ....that wasn't supposed to be there.

Here's a portable 5" tabletop scope in the travel position.  The eyepiece and secondary mirror slides out and locks in place for viewing.  Note the plywood adapter I made for the top of my tripod to bring it up to viewing height.  Also the setting circle I printed and glued on with adjustable pointer.  I'm leaving the 10" at home this winter and taking it's baby brother south with me

  3. Last night I took the "Big 10 inch" to a local private airstrip on top of a hill near me.  All the weather-liers claimed 0% sky cover at 22:00.  Guess what?  They lied.  By 10 PM the visibility got so bad I packed up and headed home.

This scope was purchased used at about 30% the cost of new.  The previous owner couldn't get any decent viewing the first time he used it and boxed it back up.  He waited too late to return it and 6 month later sold it to me.  A very simple fix.  One screw holding the heavy mirror in the back had come loose.

I added an incline meter from Amazon and printed a 360° scale for the base.  Using one of many phone apps I can the altitude and azimuth of anything in the sky and it works great.  On top behind the eyepiece is a wooden phone holder bungee corded to the tube.  This was an experiment to try a phone app that uses the phones gyros to locate objects.  It didn't work nearly as well as my printed circle and cheap incline meter.

Even though I barely graduated HS and have no formal education afterwards I've bestowed upon myself the title of Dr.  I have a Doctorate degree of the Procrastinary Arts.

It is indeed a gear change lever , Moose makes them , the one into that pic is a homemade job that I made , works very well for me , especially when I am standing both feet on one floorboard

Standing both feet on one floorboard?  I'll bet Honda never thought about putting a warning in the owners manual for that.  Must be safe!

What is it with the pressure washer pumps locking up?

Father in law had a Karcher with a Honda engine on it.  Pump went out.  I sourced a replacment pump, put it on. worked fine for a few months, pump locked up.

I've had two different people ask me if I wanted a pressure washer than runs fine but doesn't build pressure (bad pumps).

So what is it on these things that seizes them up?

You need to put in a particular type of RV  antifreeze after you are done.  Not only prevents freezing but lubes the pump

  7. It's not the quantity but quality I'm seeing.  Everything from spoiled walnuts to cereal bags not properly sealed.  I wonder if the first jobs cut are the quality control.

My travel trailer built January 21 is some of the poorest quality construction I've ever seen but again most everything built in Elkhart junk.  At least the design is good.  My Tundra was built August 21 and is about as close to perfect as can be.  Having been built in Texas where Covid was a joke may have something to do with it.

  8. Funny... actually rather sad experience at the eye Dr. yesterday.  They asked if I had my pneumonia vaccine and flu shot but mentioned nothing about Covid.  Nobody cares about Covid anymore.  They got Trump out of office and that's all they cared about.

  9. Hey Fish, did you see any of that Sahara sand that was supposed to blow your way?  Read a big article on it and climate change wasn't mentioned once.  I figured it must be true.

Im Having good luck reloading. Trimming 7mm Rem Mag brass this morning.

I’ve learned that my magnetospeed V3 chronograph changes the bullet point of impact. So i can work up muzzle velocities and relative accuracy, but if i want to sight in—gotta pull the chrono.

I suspected the muzzle mounted chronographs would do that.  I've experimented with gobs of duct seal placed in various locations along the barrel.  Unfortunately group sizes usually got worse but it did prove the theory that barrels vibrate and the rate can be changed.

I would take that any day versus being broiled alive. 😄 🥵

Me too.  I can easily dress for the cold but it's not a pleasant sight when I dress for the hot.

Lol...... Ten to one very few here know what a perma-ban hammer is...... You were a mod / admin one time i take it ?

As someone that spent way too much time reading and reviewing legal contacts I picked up on what could and couldn't be said.  I once used that skill to let's say "unlock the toolbox" so an outspoken very liberal forum member could beat himself into a ban.  My wife says I'm good at spotting easy buttons and love to push them.
