  1. Ok got all the shafts cleaned and lubbed and reinstalled what I'm almost positive is correct. I didn't find anything that was out of place or looked suspicious. When I turn the shift drum it moves the shift forks fine. Guess we will see. I will definitely go through the gears before I put it completely back together.
  2. Thx guys, believe I'm gonna take each shaft and one at a time take them apart and clean and double check that they are indeed put together correctly. Clean the shift drum and make sure it's clean and doesn't have any burrs or worn out.
  3. I did try to turn it. Acted like it was binding up.
  4. Lol. Shadetree that's exactly what I was thinking. I have went back through the manual and I can't find a thing wrong with it. This is exactly how it came out. Looks right to me.
  5. Shift drum out so y'all can see fork locations.
  6. I haven't touched a thing yet. Just split the case. I know it's hard to see but it's the best I can't do.
  7. Umm a little too late for that. Lol plus when it shows neutral it will not shift down any further, using either the electric shift or the manual. Would you guys go ahead and convert it to manual shift while I got it tore back down ? I was thinking, is it possible to install the shift drum 180 out? It kinda seems like that may be the case since the gears seem to shift 3 then 4 then 5 then 1 and 2nd in the last position ?
  8. It did shift through all the gears N-5 and you could hear them shift, ! I rode it. But there is no neutral. Neutral seemed to me to be actually 3rd gear. If you shifted into 1st the gearing is so high it won't move. 2nd gear on the indicator I assumed was actually 5th. I don't know but I'm about to crack this egg open. Lol
  9. That's cool. Been around drag racing since I was 16 and got my first car, 68 Camaro RS 327 glide, but raised 4 kids and just couldn't afford it until I got my job at the chemical plant. Now I'm too old to do it but still young enough at heart that I'm doing it anyway. It just takes one pass and your hooked to the most expensive drug in the world. So from the pic I posted we can rule out the indicator is 180 out?
  10. Ok boys and girls this is exactly how it appeared when I took the rear case off. Look right to y'all?
  11. Ty. I found that and for the life of me didn't recognize it. Thought that might be my problem. Lol
  12. Ok I was cleaning up the bench and fou d this under a rag. Anybody recognize this piece?
  13. I'm gonna bet that this is the issue. We will see, hopefully shortly.
  14. This is for retro. This is my other project. 1965 Chevy II. Mini-tubbed, narrowed 9inch. I have had to replace the floor pans got most of the cage in. Gonna be a street car with a turbo 4.8. I'll post an update asap, about to get busy on the Rancher.
  15. After today I'm off for 9 days in a row, burning the last of my vacation, 12 hour shift worker in a chemical plant, so I plan on going home tonight and at least getting the engine pulled and back on the bench. I'll update you guys on what I find. Surely do appreciate the advice and help.
  16. He might, 200lb English Mastiff so if give him a little attention you would probably just slobbered on. Lol
  17. It actually has a Dana 60 with a spool. Old bracket car, back halved with 31x14 tires. I'm gonna do my best to put it back on the street. Waiting on a title right now.

  20. If I have to crack it back open you bet I will make sure it's 💯 percent correct.

  22. Me too. 1967 Camaro 6.0 ls with a turbo.
  23. You could be right, as I was tapping the old crank out the trans fell out. I have a manual and put it together and tore it back apart 4 times trying to make sure it was right. Good lord I was hoping for something else. I got another engine I need to be building.
  24. I will check that asap. Insure hope it's something that easy. Motor has been installed and removed 3 times already.
