Ahh, good old "Vampire Taps", and just like vampires they cause nothing but problems long term...seen more shorts and opens from those than I can count...I never use them on anything I wire up...not sure I would even consider them for emergencies, but I see the appeal in that aspect.

FInally got them all pulled off...the right side lower was equally rotted out, both uppers were ok...just need bead blasted, refinished and new bushings and ball joints (which I already have). Slow and steady wins the race. 😎

Yes, but I've encountered some that appear like the pages were torn out and scanned and some look like parts of the diagram were torn off or just hard to read.... Just wanted to make it a bit easier on folks if possible that's all.

I am super grateful for the service manuals linked in here, but I noticed some of the schematics are hard to read and since my ATV project came with a Haynes manual I thought I'd take some high res pics of the schematics and post them here to try to give back a little.
(NOTE: I have not done a detailed comparison between these and the original schematics from the service manuals, so if your using them and something doesn't seem right, compare them to the factory manual and assume the factory manual is the more accurate of the two...that said I don't expect there to be any major deviations)

Yeah I know (price), I'll probably keep an eye out on eBay for good used ones, I already have everything to rebuild them so I don't need new ones.

Thank's I'll look into that as well. 😎

Well I was air force, but my grandfather was a Marine, so I can say Semper Fi to that... Oh and who cares about practical! 🤪 😎

Possibly with a little engineering, need to study the wiring diagrams and check on a few other things before i'd say yes or no to that and before you call me crazy I do stuff like that every day at my job.

Ah ok so I should look for the earliest model year in the 450 line to have one then. Thanks!

Thank y'all, but to rephrase I was trying to find out what model first got the digital/lcd gauge, doesn't have to be from the foreman TRX 400FW Can be from the other foreman lines, 450 etc. Just the earliest one to have it.

i know the Fan Control Units will swap back n forth
Awesome thanks!

Does anyone know what year and model was the first to get the digital/LCD gauges?

2 minutes ago, shadetree said:you can look up the yr/make model on partzilla.com, click on each part , and once you do that, it will show you all yrs/makes/models that part also fits as well :-).
ok, thanks Shadetree!

one more question...are there any items steering, suspension, engine, etc. wise that are unique to this model year (it seems like most parts for the foreman 400 span a very broad year range)

Nice...I did a complete wiring restoration, carb replacement, and head gasket job on an early 90's Mule 2500 earlier this summer....had to rewire it by hand, couldn't find anywhere with a replacement harness...took about 2mo (in my off time/weekends)...added a horn circuit to it as well...he's a rancher and uses it to find/feed his cattle. Oh and I gave him a 12v accessory outlet to charge his phone too. :-P

LOL...true that. on a side note this past weekend I had a guy come to me saying he'd put a new radiator fan assembly w/module, in his vehicle, as well as a new coolant temp sensor, new thermostat, new radiator (total about $650) and it was still overheating and the fans even though new weren't coming on. I spent 3 hours, charged him $100 and told him he needed a $1000.00 Intelligent Driving Module for his car...he asked if I was sure, I said I'm sure enough that if it doesn't fix it I'll give you the $1000.00. He got the module replaced and all is good. I told him next time, maybe instead of throwing parts at it, you should bring it to someone who will diagnose the problem, not just change parts for you. I also told him to try and grab a salvage part for $100 rather than dealer for new if he could find one.

Thanks...and yeah he replaced all the foam on it...he used an imitation leather material, looks good, but I will probably still buy a seat cover to put over it to protect it.
