  1. Fishfiles I had a Polaris Scrambler 400 many years ago and it was a lot of fun. When it ran. It would run 65 mph and go up hills, through mud, and over rocks just as well (and sometimes better) than any stock utility ATV. The problem was that it was a p.o.s that always had something breaking. I traded it for a '86 Kawasaki Tecate quad that I shouldn't have ever sold. I just wish 5th gear would slow the rpms down. If you was able to put a lower (numerically) 5th gear in the foreman it would still have all that low end torque needed for a utility atv and be able to run with quads almost twice its size. My foreman can take off from a dead stop in 5th gear with 27 inch tires. 5th could stand to loose some teeth.
  2. Fishfiles be patient. I'm going to share all the pics and the "story" of my foreman. Its nothing special but its different and its mine and I have enjoyed wrenching on it. Also, since I'm here instead of actually working, AKATV I finally got a text message from the number you sent me. They asked me to check my number cause they don't know what the ! I'm talking about. Can you please resend me your number? Thanks!
  3. AKATV I sent you a text about my display. I just got my plastic back from being painted so I'm close to having this sucker done.
  4. Thanks for the reply. I will shoot you a text about the p. film later today since you're most likely sawing logs at the present.(Zzzzzzz) I will go ahead and ask here instead of p.m. in case someone else is deranged as I am and curious to know if the backlight color can be changed to green? I hate that amber color. Reminds me of a 90's Pontiac instrument cluster.
  5. AKATV I was supposed to post these for you a while back but I just got my bike half way back together. Enough to power up the display. You can see the numbers just barely being displayed, although probably not in the pictures here. Can you fix the LCD display?(2nd photo)Everything else is fine.
  6. I'm 45 years old. I've ran these same dirt roads sideways at 75 mph on a banshee wearing flip flops and shorts and was lucky enough to blow the engine before killing my foolish adolescent a$$. I've also tried to turn a Grizzlie into a submarine that'll cross any mud hole, stream, river, lake, ocean, etc. I did it. I enjoyed it. I outgrew it. I have a utility ATV that does everything I need or want to do which is mostly just hauling me from here to there and back. All I want to do is keep up with traffic without floating the valves.
  7. I have searched the net looking for a way to (numerically) lower my gear ratio on my 99 Foreman 450. I have more than enough low end torque on tap but that's cause the engine starts to rev pretty high when past half throttle in 5th gear. Is there a way to change the ratio for 5th so it will be more of a overdrive? I'd like to be able to run the bike at dirt road speeds (40-45 mph) without the engine singing like a Formula one cart. If there's no changing 5th gears ratio, what about the axle's ring and pinion? I've already gone up 2 sizes with my tires and I don't want the bike any taller than it already is now. Suggestions, advice, theories, w.a.g.'s and the like are welcome.
  8. Yes, I saw that once I got a chance to actually sit down and read without interruptions. It's been one of those days.... Enough whining. I purchased a 99 foreman 450 es for 100 bucks. It was used by a older man to hunt and little else from the time of purchase till 2002 or 2003 when he gave up hunting and parked it .It sat there till I backed it out a week ago. Everything works or was easily fixed with the exception of the digital display. I took it out of the housing and disassembled the display to where I could see the film had broken down. Appears to be water damage perhaps. Nothing shows on the screen. Idiot lights work fine. I believe it just needs a new display. I don't want to buy a replacement because I don't want to spend the money on one and I would love to know what the mileage and hours are. Gimme a price and a address to send it to be fixed and I'll be happy as a pig in !.
  9. I see this is an older thread but maybe the PCB/ digital display Dr. is still in business. Help!?
