Hey I have a 04 rincon and I have a grinding racheting sound coming from transmission when I accelerate from a stop. I was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction to start looking into it. Thanks

Welcome aboard.  Not a lot of Rincon guys here, but @toodeep knows quite a bit about them.

When you say "transmission" that sounds bad, but I had a recent problem on an IRS Rancher that turned out to be the rear brake chattering.

So, does your rear brake  (left handlebar) work?  If so, try gently squeezing it while you accelerate and see if the rattle goes away.

The early Rincons had a riveted rear brake disc, and over time the rivets loosen up, which allows the disc to rattle around a bit.

I'll try that but it sounds like gears grinding not really a chatter. Only happens when accelerating from a stop then it rides fine

I really thought mine was a transmission issue as well, but discovered that the source of the noise was deceiving

Anyhow, check that and report back
