Gunna see if 14/37 may be alittle better. 14/39 was still shifting way too fast. 1st gear was pointless. I could launch in 2nd and still have to fight the front end down. I am quickly running out of gearing options though. I can get a 35 for the rear but that is it for me. The 15 wont fit in my case saver and im not taking any chances of a chain going through my case.
I'm running a 16/36 With a case saver.

Welcome to the forums. For a great front brake upgrade on the 400ex. You can install YFZ450 front calipers any year. They are dual piston and require a lot less effort to slow down or stop your bike.

Why did you need a custom intake? They just bore the inner diameter of the carb right? The outside shouldnt change?
Everything internally but the slide was replaced, it was taper bored, carb looked brand new when he was done. He also did an ap mod and a mod in the bowl. He wouldnt tell me what he did there but idc it works!
The intake isn't for that carb haha. I have a new carb I'll be installing shortly. I wont show you just yet you'll ! yourself🤭😂

Looks like you're on the way to a good build? You should see 50hp easy on the Dyno. Tq. will be much better with the stroked bottom. Yo'll have them 450 guys scratching their noodle. But a piece of advice.... that 39 mm FCR ain't gonna cut it. You'll need at least 43 mm or more, ask me how I know!

🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ you do realize there is absolutely NOTHING on the calipers that say YAMAHA! They are the exact same name as the ones on HONDA, SUZUKI,KAWASAKI.... dont be so naive and quick to deter others from buying something just because it "didn't " come off of a Honda. You dont have to spend a boat load either like you do to use 450r parts.
