  1. Arrived today. God only knows when I will get to workshop as so many jobs to do!
  2. Arrived today. Super fast from Canada!
  3. I am pressuming that with 10% stiffer springs, they will not sag as much with the weight of the bike. Add to that, your own shocks, if they are original, they will be sagging lower anyway, the Moose shocks should pick up the front a bit. Hopefully in your case, enough to level the quad out! You can ask Quad bikes wales the specs of the shocks, they are pretty helpful.
  4. Bryan I am running standard shocks but see that Quad Bikes Wales have the Moose Utility shocks with 10% stiffer springs. My plan was to see how the 450 handled on the Perfex kit but have the option to fit the stiffer shocks if I found it too soft. You could also fit the Moose shocks to the front on yours to lift the front more. I bought the 500 kit thinking that the extra holes on the front brackets might lift the 450 level. Should be here around first week in May from Canada. Looking forward to getting it fitted.
  5. K and N filters are good. It's down to proper cleaning and re-oiling the cotton filter. It's the oil that traps the dust, not the cotton. I race off road in Land Rover based vehicles, petrol V8 engines, and never had an issue with poor filtering. Also run K and N in my truck. And besides that, there is very little issue with dust here in Scotland! Rains every day! 🤣
  6. shadetree Problem solved! Went up a size in the main jet and it has really given the thing a kick in the pants! Plug nice and brown now, runs much better. Pulls all the way to the top. It's not about making it super fast, just livening it up a little, which it has done. Not sure about the USA/Canada spec 450's but the UK ones are notorious for popping back. So much so that gamekeepers and hunters avoid them! Maybe it's a bigger issue with the UK Hondas. But all good now.
  7. Ok. Topic covered many times before, but does anyone have a solution for throttle off backfire on 2004 450s? Dynojet kit fitted, K and N air filter and brand new genuine carb fitted, recent new genuine muffler. Seems to be running pretty good, plug colour good. Carb adjusted as per Dynojet instructions and tweeked until set as per workshop manual. Any solutions?
  8. Perfex long travel kit ordered........
  9. Bryan I have just ordered the Perfex long travel kit for my 450. Went for the 500 kit which has the same rear kit but the front brackets are different, hopefully sorting out the issues with the front end. Are you still impressed with your kit? Softened it up loads? Are your shocks uprated? Dave
  10. Haha! I wish I still had it! Worth $$$$$ now!
  11. Cool! I think the 500 kit might suit the 450 better on the front mounts. I just found a thread showing the 400 kit on the 450 and had issues with the front mounts. And, it hasn't lifted the 450 level. The second hole might cure that! Thanks for all the info!
  12. Seen a few of that kit but it listed as Foreman 400. Is that not different brackets?
  13. Ah, you mean the long travel kit? Doesn't seem to be available anymore. I was looking at the basic lift kit that drops the top shock mount down. I have emailed Perfex and asked if the LTK will be available!
  14. Thanks! Yep, bulletproof ATV! Still run drum brake on rear as it works fine. Looking at a lift. So many on the market just now. The highlifter kit looks so cobbled together with little stay clamped onto wishbone to secure shock mount. Could always fabricate new taller mounts and cut off old/weld on new to rear axle and wishbones. The Perfex kit looks tidier at the top of the shock. And now there are cheaper copies of that too! Super ATV used to do a tidy stainless kit but NLA. Decisions decisions....
  15. AKTV Would make sense as I see both KMPH and MPH clocks listed. Although unavailable. Everything else reads and works absolutely fine. Thanks!
