No jeep I've not heard anyone speek of what is happening  over yonder ..... You have my attention....  This just gets my blood all out of shape.... I'm sorry but for years... We put up with all kinds of ! .... From complaints of small amounts of soil falling off of tillage equitment  being moved from one farm to the next from bone heads blowing horns cussing us for going to slow, to i actually had a dump truck catch my front left wheel on a 4040 cab tractor with a 535 johndeere roller  in tow, and pushed my font end off the rosd almost caused me to flip ....well ....I'll admit  this once here... I got  so angry.... I pulled over before he was out of site grabbed my 264 bolt action rifle  and blew his right side mirror off his truck... I am sorry i got THAT angry .... And  I'm guilty.... never was busted or even heard anything else about it.... We've had bottle thrown at us for moving slow, fuel stollen, sugared fuel tanks fences cut... And back when people new it was safe to eat field corn as roasting ears.....we usally had the first two rows along the roads picked clean ....from old antique equitment stollen and sold for scrap etc etc etc .... Much as i sorely miss farming... Sadly i wouldn't go back this day in time, and i really feel for the brotherhood who still hangs tough... I'm too old to put up with that mess and their are many more like myself ... ...  We had expanded so much... Back years ago We had 4 bines running, and rented a newer model 4x4 with duels.... I can't recall how long the bean table and corn head were, but way too wide to drive the machine (with ether header) on the road... So fuel truck header wagon, 4x4 monster bine and a 4840 johndeere with duels pulling a 700 plus bushel grain cart.... I was in last with the grain kart rig .... And had made up my mind no traffic behind us was going round me.... Because of the rented combine ..... Well i was on the radio with moser (bine driver) i said I'm not letting anyone around me... Because you can't see them.. He agreed .... In short this idiot femal hagard ol ! had her panties up in her nose just had to get by..... Well we all blocked her after she managed to pull along side me .... She rolled her window down.... Well i couldn't hear her ...... So being i though this might have been an emergancy i stopped opened the door, and before i could ask... She went off with some of the worst language I've ever heard...... And this is worse now then it used to be....... Now if i see a farmer on the road if i have time .... I'll ride behind them, and still block traffic.. Just because of how we were done... Besides in case of an emergency i don't give a ! how it inconveniences other drivers....

I read a story that said the shot fired at the tractor went into the cab and came within inches of hitting the driver.

I would like to see the ending of this

He probably rode over the top of the concrete structures.  Those trials riders are awesome.

Back when I was in my early 20s I had a Honda TL 250 trials bike.  I guess it was good for what it was meant for but it was a terrible trail bike.  The suspension stunk. The seat stunk. The lack speed stunk.  The traction stunk for at least what I was doing anyway.  I'd sure like to have it back today.

  3. The girl in this video is the daughter of my wife's niece.  She was only 15 when this video was made.  I think she's been in one or two other music videos but I haven't ever saw them.

  4. When the song came out I didn't even know that it was about an actual shipwreck.  I was 21 with my first child on the way and I was very busy trying to make a living for my wife, my soon to be son and myself.  It is absolutely unreal how things have changed since then.

Out of interest, how much wood do you guys burn on an average season? And what size logs do you cut to?

In Ireland, most stoves and wood fired cookers over here are small to medium in wood capacity. I chop our wood to between 6 and 14 inch lengths, our small stove can only take 6-8 inch where as our Rayburn will just about manage 14 if the sticks are vertical. We tend to split anything that is 6 inch diameter or bigger, anything small is dried at that size.

I would guestimate we burn about 2 cords in a season, more if the weather is cold.

I probably use 3 cords and maybe 3 1/2 cords or so if it's a cold winter.  I actually may use more this year because I've got quite a bit of dead ash and some of it's not in the best of shape.  Over here in the US you'll find a big difference in wood usage because the climate is all over the place.

I have an old Fisher Grandpa Bear stove.  It's old but it'll sure put out some heat.  I aim for about 18" to 20" when cutting wood.  I'll try to attach a picture of one like mine but it may not work.

Ok, the picture wouldn't work so I'll attach a link of pictures like it.

You can rent a aerator or lawn plug cutter to help with that compact clay. Also, spread out some gypsum(calcium) it will help loosen up the soil over time. But I would definitely do the aeration before you put the leaves down if you can.

I used a sub-soiler on it a few years ago and made lots of passes in every direction.  It didn't seem to make much, if any difference when I went to till before planting season.  It stayed damp and still didn't want to break up very good when I tilled it.  I will definitely check into the gypsum.

I got the leaves today and will put them down, then blend them in with my tiller.  I'll probably still put my garden at my son's house next year and try to get some more leaves to build the one by my house some more.  I may plant a little something in it next year just to see if it does any better.

  7. There's a guy that's going to bring me a big load of leaves today so I can put them on my garden spot by the house.  I raised my garden at my son's house (right down the road) this year because the one by my house has way too much clay and wasn't producing very well.  According to what I've read the leaves will break down and help the clay soil.  I don't know how many leaves it will take to do this but I'd sure like to have my garden right by my house again.

That appears to be Webers on the engine in an AC Cobra.

I got to ride in an original 427 AC Cobra one time.  Many, many years ago my son and I were at a Shelby show at Brown County State Park in Indiana where two guys were giving short rides in their original AC Cobras.  I didn't think anybody would let you sit in an AC but these two guys were actually giving rides.  The one I rode in had a 427 and my son rode in a 289 car.  My son said his driver punched it when he turned around and my son grabbed a grab handle that was in the car.  He said the guy laughed and said that he had to grab it a couple times himself.  I have it on VHS around here somewhere.

  9. I think it was back in 1973 or 1974 that two of my buddies and myself went to the WAKY (local rock station) haunted house.  Well, we decided to take some squirt guns with us and have some fun.  When one of the monsters or haunts jumped out in front of us we would let them have it with the squirt guns.  They would immediately stop screaming, moaning or groaning.  It wasn't long before somebody came rushing up behind us yelling, "Who's got the squirt guns, who's got the squirt guns."  I tucked mine in my pants and just shrugged my shoulders.  I can't remember if my buddies stuck theirs in their pants or tossed them.  It was fun while it lasted.

That guy looks like he's ready to bug out with his dog.  I'm not for sure but that sure looks like a Rat Fink statue behind him.  All of you who know what a Rat Fink is raise your hand.

Geez i always thought it was the Beach Boys who did that 😮

Brian Wilson wrote the song and The Beach Boys did record it.  It made it to the charts but when the Hondells did their version I think it went quite a bit higher on the charts than The Beach Boys version.  Either way I think it's a cool song, especially to those of us that have a Honda.

i got up to 30 words per minute, with only three mistakes, but what do i know, i'm the only guy, who took home economics, 1 guy, 20 girls. now, ya never know whats in that class. this was public school.. thing is, i just wanted to know how to cook, guess i was cooking, subconsciously., and ya should know about economics.. just look at AOC;, a congress person, saying, if ya need more money, just print it. apparently she/it, i not good with the pronoun thing, got to be correct, hasnt used a wheel barrel to bring money to the store. not a political statement nor politics, just a educational point of view, i liked history also.

on the side, is there an education thread, so i dont post the wrong thing. its getting late in the day, almost sunrise.

Hey Eddie, I had Mr. Davidson for my typing teacher.  Some of us called him Harley.  Not to his face though.

I bet AOC could eat corn on the cob through a chain link fence.  Just looking at her reminds me of a praying mantis.
