  1. You could always make several passes if need be and maybe bolt or weld a piece of pipe/angle iron (or something else to it) sideways to limit how deep it will go.  A garden hoe would be good to clean the trench out.

I'd say rent a trencher but if you can make something work it's always good to save money when you can.  Self-sufficiency is good.

Will you be able to get that plow to go 12" deep.  A potato plow or a subsoiler might do the job easier if you have one that you can get your hands on.

I can relate to that.  It was in about 1977 or 1978 that I redid a 350 Honda in the living room of our house trailer.  My wife actually took it pretty well but to my credit I did take it outside to paint it.  I put a Sportster look alike gas tank on it and a king & queen seat.  I thought I was really cool but I'm sure nobody else thought I was.

  4. I saw this B-52 at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs back in 1989.  It is huge.  It looked like it to me anyway.  It had a sign that said it had a confirmed MIG kill during the Viet Nam War by the tail gunner.

  5. They're putting autos in them because a lot of the people they hire now don't have a clue how to drive a stick.  It's been many years since I've used a clutch but I'm sure it wouldn't take me long to get used to one again.

My son told me this evening that his truck is averaging 8.4 mpg. which I think is unreal for a big rig to be able to do.  He says he usually only has about 30,000 lbs. of food in his trailer so I'm sure that may account for some of it.  I'd say that not letting him shift when he wants to may help the mileage also.

  6. Looks like the guy doing the video is driving a Super Duty.

My youngest son is a driver for Gordon Food Service and they recently got him a new truck.  It literally has all kinds of bells and whistles on it.  It has a governor on it which his old one also had and also has censor to let him know if someone is there when he is changing lanes.  He was in the far left lane on the expressway and was getting over in the center lane.  He said the beeper went off so he instinctively swerved back to the left.  When he caught his breath he realized that nobody was in the center lane and the sensor was detecting a vehicle in the far right lane.  I think some of the safety stuff goes too far and could actually cause an accident.

The truck also has an auto transmission that I don't think he cares for.  He says he can't manually hold it or change it into another gear.  It's possible that there is a way and he hasn't figured it out yet.

  7. The woke politicians, woke judges, woke prosecuting attorneys, woke AGs and woke secretaries of state are the blame for most of this.  They either don't punish the lawbreakers or turn them out on low bail or no bail.  This evil behavior is being nurtured.

I hope the Nov. elections turn things around but I'm still not convinced that there will be an election.

The story below is a prime example.

  8. My cell cost is $63.59.  Taxes and the phone is included.  The price is per year but the prices have gone up since I got this one in January of this year.  I get Tracfones off of Ebay that come with 1 year of service, 1,500 minutes and 1,500 texts.  That's way more than I'll use in a year's time and if you buy another card or phone before your service runs out you can roll the minutes and texts over.  It's usually cheaper to buy the phone with the service than it is to buy just a card.

The service stinks (not just my phone) at my house so the phone is only for when I'm out and I still have to have a landline.

Lucky on that fencing!  That will come in handy.

I'm hoping the beans will climb straight up the fence and not in all different directions.  It will be so easy to put them up and take them down compared to the cattle panels.  I only got seven of the concrete blocks that they stand in so I'll probably have to make some type of stands for some of them.

  10. Looking good!  I've had a good year with beans and tomatoes this year and have canned quite a few quarts of them.  They've both seen their better days but I'm still getting some and will can most that I do get.  My crook neck squash has been done for some time now and I've been wanting some more.  The cucumbers are winding down too.

I haven't ever planted a fall garden but my wife wants some turnips.  I'd say it's almost time to plant them.  I need to check and see when the time is right.

I had my soil tested this year and the pH is too high.  They said I need to put some sulfur in the dirt but I can't find any except for little bags.

I've been planting my beans to climb on cattle panels that are about 52" in height and that's really too short.  I got really lucky a couple weeks ago because somebody on C-list was giving away construction site fencing that is 6 1/2 ft. tall and 10' long.  I thought I wouldn't be quick enough to get them but I got lucky.  They came with some of the concrete blocks (specifically made for them) to stand them on.  I got seven of them!  No more driving fence posts and twisting wires for me.

A friend of mine bought one of those new back in the day.  It was orange and had a 440 Magnum in it.  I knew him when he bought it but he's about five years older than I am so I never got to ride in it.  He's had several muscle cars throughout the years and wishes he still had a lot of them.

Good question , looks like they are the same car pretty much

The Firebird had the same platform as a Camaro and the GTO had the same platform as the Chevelle.  The Firebird and GTO do have a similar styling but are two completely different cars.

When I was in high school I worked at an apartment complex mowing grass and a woman who lived there had a 1969 Trans Am which is a very fancy Firebird.  I'm pretty sure it had a 400 in it and was a very good looking car.  It looked like this.

  13. I haven't ever heard of somebody getting shot during an audit so why would they need weapons for that.  You can bet your last dollar that they won't be using them very much for audits and tax collection.

  14. My wife and myself weren't going to vote in 2016 and that would have been a first for me since my early 20s.  I don't remember if it was a rally or a debate but Trump made a promise to do a certain thing and that changed my mind about voting for him.  I got home from work that night and my wife met me at the door and told me that we had to vote for him and I agreed 100%.  She had heard the same thing that I did.

I voted for Trump in 2020 because I knew the alternative would bring this country down very fast and that has happened on a larger scale than ever I imagined.

Trump isn't my first, second or even third choice for president in 2024 but I'll have to vote for him again if he runs and gets the nomination.  It would take something a lot more than a character flaw to keep me from voting for him again.

@RubiDan what you know about oil levels in these Rubicons

Mine has a DCT transmission and probably doesn't have anything in common with Destructo's transmission.  I just fill mine to the full mark on the stick and haven't ever had the stick out while running.  I wish I could help but don't know anything about a Hondamatic.  My only experience is on four-stroke and two-stroke air cooled dirt bike engines with clutches.

Could the oil pump be out of whack.  I know of a truck engine that burst the oil filter because of too much oil pump pressure.

  17. I've read about a bill (don't think it's been voted on yet) in the house that would give biden full control of the military where congress would have no oversight over his decisions.  Just think what could (probably would) happen if he declared martial law.
