  1. FF. Our Renegade is a 800R XXC, It came with the fox shocks. Huge upgrade from the kawi Brute, but complete overkill for her riding style. We have tons of rocky trails and that thing eats them up, and another reason why I love my 700xx. That quad can really manage the rough stuff and some asked if it was a 4x4. As for the fox shocks I have seen them on ebay every now and then and other inferior forums for decent prices. Fox worth it? I'd absolutely buy them for another quad.

  2. The wife fell in love with her can am. We got her a 2013 renegade 800r xxc and the fox suspension made a world of difference for her from her old quad (brute force). She loves to rub in the fact that shes got power steering, selectable 4wd, a winch, snow plow, those fox shocks, automatic and that her quad towers over my "little" Honda 700xx. She wants to put a rack on it and a rear trunk. She's turned her sport quad into a utility atv. Lol, told her she can carry fuel for me then! Having a quality suspension has made a huge difference for her, she rides a lot longer and said she enjoys our outing a whole lot more. I asked if she wanted a 2up (like yours) and said that I'd be riding in the back... so I guess I'm keeping my Honda 🙂

I'm still looking at cleaners, right now I'm narrowed down to sharpertek or ultrasonic LLC. Can't decide.

I only use mine for bike or quad parts so I got a cheap 10l one off amazon for about $140. Works perfectly for my needs. Its been doing the job now for 5 or so years and still going strong

I'll get it from partzilla, never dealt with them are they just cheaper, or a good company?

I order 96% of all the oem parts I buy from them. The other 4%? Those parts are either not made anymore or some of the few they don't have access to. Adding up the order history through them totals over $4k... over 6 years. I've never had a single problem with them and play to buy much more. If there was an issue is if you are use to overnight or 2 day shipping you will be disappointed. Think old school shipping. Not terrible, just slow.

As for an ultrasonic cleaner for carbs.. they are amazing! And as for solution? Try good old fashioned pine sol. The original, not the enhanced with anything kind. But don't let it soak for any longer than 24 hours and rince thoroughly to remove any extra sol. Works amazing in an ultrasonic tub. Just be sure to remove any diaphragm or o-rings and hoses. Btw, after a water rinse dry thoroughly and spray any screws or other metal bits with some wd-40 or oil base to keep them from rusting. See pic. Bought this carb from ebay. Looked like it sat in a grove for 10 years full of rotten gas. Choke would even move. That pic was after 17 hours in pine sol in a ultrasonic cleaner. No brushes or anything was used. Wish I'd taken a pic of the before but I wanted to see what rusted. Took it all apart and threw it all in the soup (minus rubber parts of course). Normally I wouldn't wash all the screws and what not like this but I was curious.

I have a Garmin Montana , use Garmin   Base Camp to overlay onto Google Earth and TOPO charts , love it ....

I've decided to get another Montana. Going with the 680t again, that thing was amazing! This time I won't leave it on the bike when I pay for gas.  🙄

The display is plenty bright enough for me and its large enough to see when I'm sitting in the saddle. So off to amazon to order another!

How do you attach your tie-down strap to the winch spool?

I have a few chunks of broken synthetic rope so I just take about a foot and a half to start around the spool and the other end run through a loop on the strap and either tape it or I prefer to just put it back around the spool, it just pulls the strap around as you bump the spool. I'll try to get some pictures but it's pretty easy to figure out. I just prefer the strap over the regular synthetic line so I can save wear and tear on a good line and the strap pulls the plow up more evenly

I always run a roller fairlead, as others have said the hawse just generates too much heat. For my plow I always switch out my synthetic and use and old 2" flat tie down strap. The thing has lasted years with no signs of wear. It's just long enough to raise and lower the plow so doesn't bind up on the drum at all.

And I've gone through 3 warn atv winches over the years. All on one machine. Have 4 years on my newest winch and it's a Superwinch, I couldn't be happier

  8. Over the years I've used everything from paper maps to gps to apps on phones. Which is your favorite way to keep a track of your favorite trails and places you've visited?

I've had several gps models over the years and the last two have certainly been my favorite. I prefer Garmin as the Colorado system had what I really liked for features but I upgraded and got the Montana 680t about a year ago. I really enjoyed the size but after it was stolen I really couldn't see investing that much into another dedicated unit. I've since jumped on the smartphone app bandwagon and have been using the Avenza app. I'm pretty impressed with its accuracy and loading maps had been a breeze. The ability to tag locations and assign a pic to remind me what was where is great when I share a trip with someone or since my memory isn't what it used to be of where I found something. Last summer was my first time trying it and I used an old phone I kept when we upgraded. I use a Samsung Galaxy S7 for my trips (if it gets stolen I'm not out anything this time) and though I don't have it set up with a data plan or anything it still can use gps though it takes longer to initially find your location than if I had a cell tower to help triangulate my position.

Avenza allows me to load our local Black Hills National Forest trail system maps and helps jeep track of what trails are single track, 50" or less, open to highway vehicles, trail is open, closed for repair or if they are seasonal or not.

All this and now I find myself looking into a new system by Trailtech. They have a new model called the Voyager Pro which has a color screen and a unique feature that let's you keep track of your buddies. They can even send out an "SOS" signal that says something is wrong and needs help. That's just a nutshell as I'm still looking into it.

  9. I'll have to edit with pics. I'm not partial to just any one brand, I like a variety. but we grew up with a few around the farm. A couple shot guns, .22's and some .308's.

My last purchase was a long time coming, wanted this one for awhile- IWI Tavor X-95 .223/5.56. It's a bullpup I bought for target shooting and home defense.

Next might be the Springfield Hellcat, looks like a pretty sharp little gun.

  10. My son is playing with the idea of selling his XRR. We live near Rapid City South Dakota. If anyone is interested I can give you his contact information and I'll ask him for some more pictures to update this post.

Excellent shape, he is the second owner but in all honesty it scares the crap out if him. Lots and lots of extras!

    He is firm at $3800

    Baja designs dual sport kit

Highway Dirt Bikes (HDB) top clamp

    HDB Vapor display protector

HDB next gen handguards with flip out mirrors

Trailtech radiator fan with digital temp display/adjustment

Practically brand new dual sport tires

    Seat Concepts seat

Lots more as we think of it
