1st thing to check for when you take those valves out is... Are both of those exhaust valves seating good? Sometimes the valve seats will give up and warp or crack where they are closest together... and both valves will leak when closed.

Yeah i was noticing the black between the two exhaust valves kinda had me thinking exactly what you are saying. Gunna go pour some gas in the head and see if it drains down over night. Redneck method lol

  2. Yeah my ocd made sure of all those things haha. I am a bit concerned about how much carbon build up is on the exhaust side of the head. May just drop the cash and have it ported lol. Reguardless of anything im gunna have the valves removed and clean everything up and re-lap them. Intake side is spotless though so thats a good thing. A couple mudders had me worried i maybe took in some mud or water. But i see zero signs of anything like that.

there is a video on u-tube on modifying the cabinet to make it more efficent ,  I like what he was doing , I'll see if I can paste a link

I watched alot of them. Probably 25 or 30 videos. Alot of people do the same stuff. My cabinet came already modified in alot of ways since i got it from a guy that used it very little but found it didnt really work at all in stock form. Its just a cheap-o harbor freight one.

I need to upgrade my light in my blasting cabinet also , I can't  see too good with the stock light , I was thinking about using a 24 inch long 12V fluorescent work light , one of the many things I want to do

Hey man i did the light upgrade in my cabinet. Cost me 15 bucks total. I picked up 2 outdoor flood light sockets. Cost 2.10 a piece. The most expensive part was the flood light bulb. I did a 90watt led. And holy cow what a difference.

The picture is with just one. I have a second but honestly see no need to use it at all. I also got a dust deputy and hooked my shop vac up for the first time. No more dust in the air. Its like a whole different machine.

  5. I have 2 guns. One for conceal carry. Other for home defense. Dont have a picture of the home defense. But lets put it this way if someone enters my home with me here and threatens me or my family they will meet something like a war zone lol. I have a masterpiece arms mp-30. Chambered in 9mm. Uses glock magazines and i have a full drum or 2 or 3 lol. It also has a 350 lumin strobe light on it. A silencer and a red dot. LoL. Like i said war zone haha.

My carry firearm is a ruger lcp 2. 380 i do have a picture of that. It has only left my side 3 times since having my ccw. Every single one was to fly in an airplane.

  6. First time sand blasting ever lol. I started on my header since im gunna wrap it anyway. Worked ok. Light is pointless. Pretty much zero light lol. I was told by the guy i got the cabinet from that he was giving me a 50 lb bucket of really fine sand. Come to find out its aluminim oxide/glass bead mix. Not sure how well its gunna work for my side covers. Worked....ok on the header. Really need to get a dust reclaimer. Also not sure what psi to run it at. It has a nice regulator water trap right on the side so i was running it in the 80-100psi range. Anything under really didnt remove anything.

  7. My blast cabinet came with a big 3 gallon bucket full of super fine grit sand. I dont really care for making it shiny. Just clean. Very very clean lol. And im gunna cerakote the side covers after blasting. They say you want a texture for that to stick better to. I hope the media i have is strong enough to do it. Cuz it was free and i want to use as much of it as i can. Got some modifications to do to the cabinet for better lighting and raise it up on casters so i can roll it out side my garage in the warmer months to keep the mess at a minimum.

if you do sand blast the covers ?, be very careful !!!!, you do not want to get grit into places it should not be in !!.

Is that really a concern? I plan to have them down to nothing. Like removing all bearings and seals and anything that can be removed. And i will run it through the parts washer after i sand blast it to be sure i get all the sand out of everything. Is there something obveous im missing? Oil passages i will blow out with compressed air to be sure they are clear.

    wellllllllllll..its not all apart ??!!!..lol.

Why rush? Crank and piston are still in arizona lol. I got alot of plans in the works for this build. Thinking i will be sand blasting the cases. Im gunna cerakote the side covers. Among other things. I just want the whole motor top to bottom new. And flawless in every way lol.

I had a service truck once that had a utility body on it , it was so hard to put fuel in that truck , I had a block of wood cut where you could stick it in the handle and it would barely pump , you still had to stand by cause it would cough up diesel sometimes , it had a 52 gallon tank and took 1/2 to fill it up ------- I got feed up with it and  I went to buy some filler hose that was compatible with diesel , which would  fit the filler neck and the tank and couldn't  find any , so I went to the Dodge dealer , I never forget this , told the parts guy what I wanted and he says  " ya we got that hose , how much you want , it is sold in length " , " I say , " give me about 3 feet " , he says " it's $5.82 an inch " , I went home took measurements , went to the muffler shop and got some exhaust pipe bent and squeezed to O.D. and bought 1 ft of that special hose and made two 6 inch splices with double clamps , worked fine then a couple of years later , one of the rear tires separated and took out the fill tube and I had to do it again

Only problem is my truck is a 2012 so it has all the emission crap and i have to pass emission since its my truck i use for work...

Slammed , I don't remember reading about your truck going down , what happen to it

Probably one of the most random and annoying problems you could ever have. Gas tank vent went bad. Made pumping gas into it near impossible. (Pump would just shut off) Took and hour and a half to fill up the 35 gallon tank at a trickle pace. Whole new gas tank on order 10 days out..........but its been 8 days already so it will be fixed soon.

Haha yeah im going crazy not getting to watch them play. Been spending alot of time working even harder since my truck is down for the count in my garage. I wasnt shocked to see Burrow get the heisman. Now Hurts getting second place was a bit of a shock. It just hit home how rigged all these things are now a days. Burrow 100% deserved the trophy though.

  13. Heck there is times my 20ton isnt enough. I bent the press table trying to do the wheel bearings on one of our ford transit connects we have in our fleet. I had it red hot and it snapped the spindle in half and bent the press table. When it snapped it sounded like a bomb went off. No joke.
