  1. Fired up the smoker today, ground up 7 lbs. of deer 3 lbs of pork. stuffed the casings, refrigerated over night. In a 200 degree gas smoker for about one hour then added smoke for an additional hour. After 2 hours and 45 min.an internal temp of 160 put them in ice water to cool for an hour. Cut them placed in zip locks and 9 of ten bags into the freezer and one into the fridge. Fantastic!

  2. 97% of the land in this state is privately owned, not many places to ride. one small trail near where I dear hunt, short and crowded.  Most ATV's in this state are used by the farming community. I use mine as a tool, snow removal, hauling dear, brush and general yard work.I envy some of you folks that can ride out your backdoor in snake country, mountains and hills. None of that here.

I put two 100W silicon heat pads on the case where the oil sump is. These pads are fairly common up here. The use of two pads warms the whole engine up. I’m running Shell Rotella 5W40 synthetic oil. Never had any problems starting. Napa carries silicon heat pads, Alaskan and Canadian companies make heat pads, Kats or Yukon are a couple brands of pads.

Thanks Nanook, I will see if I can find them.

I’ve put 13 hours on the Honda snowblower and 20 hours so far on the Honda Foreman plowing. Main problem this winter was it being too cold to move snow! I have silicon heat pads on both of the above to warm the oil...was a tough winter this year.

Nanook: You guys still have a couple of months of winter to go ,Right? Do the silicon heat pads make that much diff.? What kind did you have? My carburated Rancher is really cold blooded, have thought about some type of "block" heater.

  5. the last two days it has been in the 50's, started snowing about two hours ago, ground is warm enough it is melting as it hits. more  times than not we get a snow storm during boys high school basketball tourney, right on schedule
