Ended up replacing all the shocks with broncos, definitely a stiffer ride…probably a good idea to just go with the gas shocks all the way around, instead of mixing with oil dampened…

The large bolt that holds the rear lower shock mount under the head…can’t find my manual with the torques…

Hey folks, trying to help a friend find a 2013 Rancher 420FM manual. He picked up a project, that needs to be put together. Is the 09-11 420 an automatic transmission? That is the only small frame 420 manual I see.

Well, High Lifter sent out a code for 15% off (END22). The Bronco is ordered (183-04259) fits the medium sized frame Rancher 420 SRA. Sometime this Spring I’ll put the Highlifter springs on the front and the Bronco on the rear. Hopefully that will take the mush out of the suspension…

They do have a Bronco, almost $200 with shipping! Says May be 10% stiffer

That is correct…

OEM is too soft, need something a bit stiffer…

Putting High Lifter springs on the front shocks, need a whole new assembly on the rear. What do you recommend?

Well come Springtime, I’ll have to call the insurance company and check out the rates. Too cold in winter up North to ride ATVs...

Alaska just passed a law stating, “it is legal to drive an ATV on roads, where the speed is limited to 45mph or lower”...Takes effect Jan 1st 2022.

Must have lights and be licensed and insured. I’m wondering what you folks pay for insurance? I’ve never licensed or insured an ATV... I may have to start now.

Oh there are at least a couple guns in each room of the house to choose from, if the need arises...9mms, 41s, 44s & 45s in the handgun department. 22s, 308s, 30-06s, 375, 44mag & 45/70 in the rifle dept. There is at least one pump and one semi-auto - 12gauge hanging around. I would feel sorry for anyone attempting to rob this place, after the dog chewed on them, they would be in line for one of the above...

Well that is good to hear. I’ve never ridden an ATV that has EPS. If you want the manual shift model, you will have EPS...

What do you think of the EPS, Mac? I don’t have it on my 2015, no way to buy one without now.

Yes indeed, best to diversify. I can usually find ammo for at least one of the four pistol calibers or four rifle calibers. The two shotguns are well stocked. I try to stay at the couple hundred rounds level, for every caliber I own...

The 420 Rancher I have is next...I didn’t like the feel of things the last time I changed the oil. Hopefully there are still enough threads left to get the Fumoto on there.

Installed a Fumoto F-109 oil quick drain on the 2018 Foreman. Beefed up the stock skid plate, so it can’t get pushed up and expose the drain. As it sits, it is recessed 3/16” from the drain opening in the skid plate. I’m converting all three Honda ATVs over to these...no more worrying about stripping out oil drain threads...

The bear loads leave a little sting behind...shoot two or three off every spring so as to remember where to put the sights...they hit a few inches higher than the normal 44mag rounds. 340gr @1300 something fps +P round, from Buffalo Bore.

The Ruger Alaskan in my bike handlebar bag. Has a heavy frame to handle bear loads.
