Misterclean 400 Posted February 5, 2022 I have a 4 or 5 inch crack in the plastic of my rear fender. Not on an edge.......just somewhere on the top flat portion. I've plastic welded decades ago but not with the methods I'm asking about today. I've seen two interesting methods and want your opinions. First is the method where you melt a small mesh stainless steel screen into the cracked area with about a half inch overlap and the second method is the hot staple method. I also wondered if i could do the hot staple method then put the stainless screen over that. Opinions? Go
toodeep 1,712 Posted February 5, 2022 I've seen that mesh method and that looked like it would work better since there would be more individual wires holding it together. I've only used welding rod and a hot air plastic welder so I can't say if either of your options are better or worse.
