doug350rancher 0 Posted April 20, 2022 First I've put a bunch of time effort and money into this machine already, Had it running like a top. Haven't driven it since Feb sometime. Went to get on it today and it won't shift into neutral to start, It'll shift up and back to the current gear, but no further either direction. I tried moving it to shift the position of the internal components, but not luck ..... Suggestions? Direction to start looking? 1 - 1 of 1 Posts
AKATV 848 Posted April 20, 2022 My money is on your shift gate or the shift drum "star" bolt If you pull the front clutch cover you can inspect them both sometimes the bolt gets loose and sometimes it falls out other times the shift gate itself cracks Also -if you lift front of wheeler you do not have to drain oil when you pull clutch cover https://www.babbittsonline.com/oemparts/a/hon/5053dda7f870021c54bdce23/gearshift-fork parts # 11 and
shadetree 5,973 Posted April 20, 2022 early ranchers had a bad shift drum design. if the problem is not found at the front cover ?, then its gonna be inside the engine. OR !, your clutch is not adjusted right ?, or plates sticking ?.
