500ruby 0 Posted April 13, 2023 I have 05 Honda rubicon that I just bought and it downshifts really hard and fast to the point it skids the tires. I’ve noticed once it gets below 20mph when decelerating is when it’ll all the sudden downshift abruptly almost throwing you off the fourwheeler. I’ve swapped the angle sensor and the speed sensor with no luck. Any help would be appreciated
jeepwm69 7,752 Posted April 13, 2023 That's a new one for me. Does it do it in ESP mode or only in D1/D2?
500ruby 0 Posted April 13, 2023 I haven’t even tried esp, but on d1 and d2 it does it
jeepwm69 7,752 Posted April 13, 2023 See what it does in ESP in different gears when you slow down. That should tell you whether it's an electrical/ ECU problem, or something mechanical.
500ruby 0 Posted April 13, 2023 It shifts just fine in ESP mode
jeepwm69 7,752 Posted April 14, 2023 Sounds like it's something in the computer then. I'd re-intialize the system. Instructions are in the factory service manual. You can download it free from the link in the toolbar at the top of the page. Look on page 24-
