ADRIANP 0 Posted April 30 1999 foreman 450s picked this up not long ago. So I go pull off the carb to clean and rebuild with All Balls kit. So removing my imulsion tube or "main jet holder" and the tube is mangled and bent now I'm not sure if the tip broke off inside or not I cannot tell or if that peice is part of the carb and pressed in. Threads are beat up also I will have to fix that but my concern is if that peice is suppose to be there or not. Help me out if possible.
SlammedRanger 1,505 Posted May 2 Welcome aboard! The piece down in the hole is not part of the emulsion tube. It is there to help guide the needle into the hole. It is a press in part. They can wear out when the needle is bouncing around in there but its not very common. I actually had to change all 4 on a gsxr750 i had years ago. They were known to oval the hole and cause all sorts of mid range issues.
shadetree 5,543 Posted June 19 that piece is the main jet needle seat, once you remove the tube, tap it out from the top side, it comes right out. as for that bent tube ?, you will need a new one, that wont fly. shidy carb kits DO NOT come with this tube in the kit.
